Zitat:
This CD is already being mass produced at a plant in Long Island, NY and we've been told that manufacturing and delivery is currently on schedule for next week. You may have heard that Apathy is also making a second "exclusive" batch of 1000 copies with another retailer. While it is true that there may be two different companies manufacturing the CD, the claim that one company has an "early exclusive" release date is completely false. We have thoroughly researched the situation with all parties involved in this album and have concluded that both companies will likely have finished, official authorized copies in stock on or around Friday, November 19th. So are far as we are concerned, our pre-order ship date is accurate and we aren't "fooling" anyone about our marketing strategy.
Zitat:
Ok... there seems to have been some misunderstandings, about release dates, with some of the stores that are going to be carrying the CD.
Hiphopsite.com pressed up the first thousand cd's... Which mean hiphopsite.com and I own those cd's, and they won't be sold thru any other stores for the first week or two. HOWEVER... the first week in December, other stores will begin to sell them. So the only place you can pre-order these right now and get them IN NOVEMBER... is thru hiphopsite.com
The only reason these would not ship on the 19th from HipHopSite is if they are late from the pressing plant, but everything looks on schedule. Confused? Here's the bottom line... No store, other than hiphopsite.com should be selling pre-orders yet. Because you will NOT get the cd, until the first two weeks of December if you order from another store.
Also, hiphopsite.com will be the only store to have the exclusive "Demigodz Winter 2004 Sampler", with unreleased songs by me, One Two, Motive and others...
In December, the other stores will be laced with that shit.
Zitat:
So why is another company pressing up their own batch of Apathy CD's when the official distributor of "Where's Your Album" for not just them, us and the rest of the United States and the world, is already doing a much larger shipment which will be available at the same time? Surely, this CD is expected to sell more than just 1000 copies worldwide, so why is one store trying to mess everything up to try and get an unfair jump on the hundreds of other legitimate, Apathy-supporting hip-hop stores across the globe? Well, turns out that this particular store is currently in the hole with the national distributor for over $10,000 in overdue unpaid invoices, and is currently on hold from receving any new shipments of music product...which would presumably include this upcoming Apathy CD. So you see, if they didn't go behind the distributor's back and press up their own copies, it might have actually worked out that they would be the ONLY store in the world who did NOT have the new Apathy CD. They probably thought that it would be easier to press 1000 of their own CD's for just $1200 and split the profits with Apathy directly (while cutting the distributor off), rather than pay up even a portion of the $10,000 they already owe them from the past. And no, overstocked mash-up records and hundreds of leftovers from supposedly "limited edition" 7-inch releases don't necessarily count as credit.
Zitat:
I'm not going to go into the back story on this because I don't want to sound like a whiney kid, and plus I know you guys don't really care. In a nutshell, the conspiracy theory Sandbox dreamed up is completely untrue. They are furious that we are getting the CD first and that we have Apathy vouching for us. Their latest love letter to us reads like a bad politcal ad and has done little to hurt our sales or business. That's really all we have to say on the matter. We appreciate your support and apologize to the fans for it coming to this. Peace.
