These tracks were recorded in '94 in Chunk King Studios, NYC by Chris Conway. They were the last recorded by Finesse while he was working with Bandoola Records on a failed EP, which eventually became the legendary Awakening LP.

We're not only putting out these tracks properly mastered on vinyl for the first time, but including the never heard before instrumentals. We've also teamed up with legendary D.I.T.C. artist and designer Eric Orr for the cover art on this one, and have included elements of his original EP design work.

We wanted to do something special for this series and this time we're giving y'all a double dose as we present double vinyl gatefold 7" releases for the Lord Finesse set. ENJOY!

DWG014 - Sputnik Brown 'That Brown Underground' E.P.

Sputnik Brown is a critically acclaimed, talented collective of visionaries originating from New York, Washington D.C. and Japan. Formed in 2004, they have without a doubt laid a solid foundation for themselves within the realm of underground Hip Hop. Diggers With Gratitude proudly presents this, the group's next vinyl project simply titled ‘That Brown Underground E.P.’. A hand-picked selection of tracks pulled from their unofficial releases ‘Three Shades Of Black’ and the ‘Seven/Twenty E.P.’ which both went semi-viral after seeing a brief run online as a free download, re-capturing the attention of those who have been relentlessly riding with the group since their inception as well as a new batch of fresh ears craving that classic formula of beats, rhymes, and life.

This EP contains 10 previously unreleased full-length vocal tracks. There are 350 copies available in total with 100 heavyweight brown vinyl pressings being randomly distributed amongst the orders. The price, a relatively wallet-friendly £15 plus shipping.

Back in 2010 DWG dropped what was, at that point at least, our most ambitious project to date. Featuring three previously unreleased cuts from Boston’s legendary T.D.S. Mob as well as a reissue of their four previously released tracks and a CD/DVD set containing various segments of video footage and imagery from the ’88-’89 era. Whilst working on that project we unearthed the acapella tracks for pretty much all the tracks T.D.S. Mob had recorded and decided to invite entries for a remix competition.

In the end we received a total of eight entries to the competition and in all honesty we didn’t have the heart to leave anyone out (despite initially envisaging a four track EP). There was also the difficult matter of choosing between the entries and the three of us all had different preferences in that respect. So we’re proud to present to you all eight entries to the competition featuring a multitude of different takes on these T.D.S. Mob classics from Ultimate Breaks influenced straight up B-Boy jams to “jazzy little rhythms” and everything in between. There’s something here for everyone and DJ Format’s remix of ‘Bounce’ is something to be admired and without a doubt one of the finest tracks to come out on the DWG label, enjoy!

DWG016 - Jorun Bombay 'Remixes: Vol. 1' E.P.

This isn't the first time Jorun has featured on a DWG release, having contributed his Phill Most Chill collaboration 'Smash!' to DWG7004, and it's unlikely to be the last time either as this Halifax, Nova Scotia beatsmith continues to build a reputation for both his original productions as well as his remixes and his incredible instrumental re-creations. This E.P. features eight of Jorun's remixes hand selected for your listening pleasure. We're not going to divulge the track-list here but there's a few clues on our store which should give you a good idea of what to expect when coupled with his YouTube channel. Just don't ask him where he got the acapellas from!

DWG017 - Jorun Bombay 'Instrumentals: Vol. 1' E.P. (BONUS RECORD)

Exclusive to the 'Triple Threat Bundle', DWG017 features five of Jorun Bombay's re-created instrumentals of classic hip-hop tracks that never came with an instrumental track on the original 12". Again we're not going to divulge the track-list here but suffice it to say that these def jams are some of the most heavily used hip-hop tracks of all time in DJ battles, so whether you've been fiending for the instrumentals since the days of Chad Jackson and Cash Money or are more from the 'hip-hop karaoke' school of thought these are sure to be right up your alley!
