Zitat:
AUTHENTIC ARTICLE AUGUST 21, 2006

“I‘M KOBE BRYANT IF HE PLAYED FOR THE KINGS / DON’T WANNA PASS THE BALL / SICC OF WATCHIN YOU WACC BASTARDS BALL / HOMIE LYIN ABOUT HIS FO’ FIFTH AND SPRAYIN HIS ‘TEEN / SIT IN HIS HOUSE PLAYIN X BOX WITH HIS COCC LICCAS / BUT THIS THE BLOC, NIGGAI / AIN’T PASSIN THE TORCH / YA CAREER’S DEAD / AT THIS POINT I’M JUST BLASTIN YA CORPSE / PASSION FOR SPORTS / LOVE TO PLAY THE GAME / YOU WAN’ TEST? / ALL YOU GOTTA DO IS SAY THE NAME / YES! ONE, X!”

HOW GOES THEE? I RETURN WITH GOOD TIDINGS, BEARING THE GIFT OF GABVERSATION FOR ALL MY BLOC REPRESENTATIVES. BRING YOUR NATION TO THE TABLE WITH MY NATION AND UNITE WITH US FOR THE COMMON GOAL OF TAKIN OVER THE COUNTRY WITH REAL STREET MUSIC AND YOU WILL BE LIVING THE DEFINITION OF A BLOC STAR. REAL TALK, NO GIMMICKS, REAL WALK, NO IMAGE / NO PAIN, NO GAIN, REAL GAME, NO SCRIMAGE! I’M GONNA NEED Y’ALL TO PUT THESE POSTERS UP IN Y’ALL TOWNS, PASS OUT THESE FLIERS AT THE STORES IN YOUR HOODS SO WE CAN INCREASE.ORDERS FOR IGNITION. AIN’T NOTHING fREE IN AMERICA (YOU PAY THEM TAXES OR YOU GOIN TO JAIL, PLAYA PLAYA; NOTHIN FREE ABOUT THAT) SO YOU HELP WE, WE PAY YOU. IF YOU DOWN TO STREET TEAM IT UP FOR THE BLOC, SPIT AT US AND WE’LL GET AT YOU PRIVATELY TO SET UP AN EFFECTIVE SYSTEM FOR ALL OF US. YES SIR.

SEMI AUTOMATIC WEAPON, WHAT IT DEUCE? YOU GETTIN THAT CD READY FOR ME? FILTHY RICH SAYS YOU ON YOUR JOB. GLAD TO HEAR YOU WORKIN WITH DUDE. I RESPECT HIS GET DOWN. RAP IT UP AND WRAP IT UP!

YOUNG O.G. LOC, WHAT CITY.YOU IN? YOU WANNA EAT WITH ME?

YO, THE WHOLE LUNASICC VERSES LUNI COLEONE THING... IT’S DEEPER THAN Y’ALL KNOW. LET ME TELL YOU A LITTLE STORY...

LUNI IS MY FIRST COUSIN, AS MANY KNOW. HE WAS A KID WHEN I GOT LOCCED UP. THE NIGGA HAD A ROUGH LIFE, REAL SPITS. THAT’S HIS BUSINESS, BUT I BEAR WITNESS, LUNI LIVED THE SHIT HE SPITS. I WAS THERE FOR THE MOST PART. THE NIGGA WAS ALWAYS TALENTED, FROM DAY ONE. HE WAS IN TEXAS WHEN I STARTED WORKING ON PSYCHO ACTIVE, SO HE MISSED THAT. WHEN HE GOT BACC TO SAC, I WAS ALREADY DONE AND SIGNED WITH BLACK MARKET. I GOT LOCCED UP, BLAH BLAH BLAH, I STARTED WRITING SEASON OF THE SICCNESS (XORCIST). I WROTE “DO YOU WANNA GET HIGH” FOR MY AUNT TUTTlE TO SING. SHE GOT VOCALS LIKE YOU WOULDN’T BELIEVE, SHE JUST HELLA CRAZY! SO I CALLED HER TOGET HER TO DO IT AND SHE COULDN’T GO TO THE STUDIO. NOW, AUNT TUTTE IS LUNI’S MOM, YA HEARD? SO I REMEMBER THAT MY LIL CUZZIN COULD HOLD A NOTE HIS DAMN SELF, & I ASKED HIM IF HE WANTED TO SING IT FOR ME. LORD KNOWS I CAN’T SING! SO I TAUGHT HIM THE SONG AND WE PUT HIM IN THE STUDIO. WHILE HE WAS IN THE STUDIO WE NEEDED TO DO A MIC CHECK, AND WHEN ILL WILL TOLD HIM TO DO THAT, HE STARTED RAPPING A VER SE. I HEARd THAT (I WAS ON THE PHONE), AND I SAID, “WHO THE FUCC IS THAT RHYMING?” AND ILL SAID “THAT’S MONTERRIO.” YOU GOTTA RHIEMBER, HE WASN’T LUNASICC OR NOTHING THEN. HE HAD TO BE ABOUT 16 OR 17. I GOT HIM ON THE PHONE AND WAS LIKE, “YOU RHYMING NOW, NIGGA?” AND HE LET ME HEAR A DIFFERENT VERSE. MY NIGGA WAS ON SOME YOUNG SHIT BECUZ HE WAS. A YOUNG NIGGA, NAH MEAN? I TELL HIM, “DO THIS SONG, AND WE’LL TAKE CARE OF EVERYTHING AFTER THAT.” SO HE DID “DO YOU WANNA GET HIGH,” AND HE DID “RECOGNIZE,” BOTH ON XORCIST, AND I WENT AHEAD AND TAUGHT HIM WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MY SECOND VERSE FOR “WITTA MASK ON,” AND LET HIM SPIT IT. I NAMED HIM LUNASICC BECUZ I WANTED HIM TO BE THE SICCEST LUNATIC RAPPIN PERIOD. LUNASICC INSTEAD OF LUNATIC, NAH MEAN? I CHANGED THE VERSE TO FIT HIM AND TAUGHT IT TO HIM OVER THE PHONE. BOOM, THAT STAGE IS DONE, XORCIST COMES OUT, AND EVERYONE’S ASKING WHO LUNASICC IS. RAIDED DOES IT AGAIN, A STAR IS BORN. NOW, AT THIS TIME, I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE LEAVING BLACK MARKET TO SIGN WITH AWOL RECORDS. “T” AT AWOL WAS OFFERING ME BETTER MONEY, BETTER TEAM, AND BLOCC LOVE. (THEY WAS ALL FROM 29th STREET). I WASN’T SURE WHAT I WOULD DO AT THE TIME, BUT I THOUGHT LUNASICC WOULD STAND A BETTER CHANCE WIT AWOL THAN HE WOULD WITH BLACK MARKET (I WAS RIGHT ABOUT THAT, FOR THE RECORD). ME AND “T” WERE TOGETHER AT DVI, STATE PRISON IN TRACY, CALIFORNIA. I TOLD HIM ABOUT LUNI, TOLD HIM THAT I HAD ILL WILL, LUNI, AND DA MISSES, IF HE WAS INTERESTED. HE WAS WIT IT, SO I WROTE ILL WILL AND GAVE HIM ALL THE INFO, THEY WENT TO THE AWOL OFFICES, AND THE REST IS HISTORY. THAT’S HOW LUNASICC GOT ON. I PUT EVERY WORD OF THIS ON MY VOCAL CORDS, IF I’M LYIN MAY THEY DISINTEGRATE INTO DUST.

NOW, THINGS WERE A BIT SHAKY BETWEEN AWOL AND C BO AT THE TIME, BUT I DIDN’T GET TO HEAR BO’S SIDE OF THE STORY UNTIL AFTER I SENT LUNI AND THEM TO FAIRFIELD. BO CAME TO DVI AFTER “T” WAS ALREADY GONE. THIS WAS THE SUMMER OF 1996. WE WERE ALL THERE, ME, “T”(JUST LEFT), C-BO, BIG NO LOVE, SQUABBLER, EVERYONE. ME AND BO WERW CELLIES AT THe TIME, AFTER “T’ LEFT, AND HE WAS MAD ABOUT HIS MONEY BEING FUNNY WITH AWOL. BO WAS ON HIS JOB ALREADY, HAD HIS LAWYERS, EVERYTHING, AND HE WAS ABOUT TO BLOW ON ANOTHER LEVEL BECUZ PAC WAS WAITING FOR HIM TO GET OUT AND SUGE WANTED TO SIGN HIM, TOO. THAT’S WHEN I GAVE BO “DEADLY GAME,” “MR. 357,” AND “BOO YOW.” C-BO, ME, AND KILLA TAY WERE ALL EXTRA TIGHT AT THE TIME, HOMIE LOVE, FOR REAL. C-BO WANTED ALL OF US TO RIDE WITH WEST COAST MAFIA, ON SOME BLOCC LOVE INSTEAD OF WITH AWOL. BO ENDED UP LEAVING AWOL, AS EVERYONE KNOWS, AND I STAYED WITH BlACK MARKET BECAUSE ME AND BO WEREN’T IN TOUCH AS STRONG WHEN HE WENT HOME. KILLA TAY AND LUNI WERE STILL AWOL, PUTTING OUT HOT SHIT. THAT’S WHEN LUNI STARTED CALLING HIMSELF LUNI COLEONE AND KILLA TAY BECAME TAY CAPONE. THEY WERE TIGHT LIKE BROTHERS. TAY ALWAYS TOLD ME HE WOULD LOOK OUT FOR LUNI, BECAUSE LUNI WAS THE BABY, AND TAY KEPT HIS WORD. IN THE BEGINNING, EVERYONE LOOKED OUT FOR LUNI BECUZ OF ME, BUT IN THE END, IT WAS JUST BECUZ THEY LOVED LUNI AS A LIL HONIE & GOOD DUDE IN GENERAL.

WHEN LUNI FELL OUT WITH “T” AT AWOL, HE WANTED TO COME BACK OUT WITH NEW SHIT BUT HE WAS STILL SIGNED TO AWOL RECORDS. HE COULDN‘T USE THE NAME LUNASICC, UNDERSTAND? SO HE CHANGED HIS NAME TO LUNI COLEONE SO HE COULD GET HIS MONEY, MAKE HIS MUSIC AND FEED HIS YOUNG. THE REST OF THAT IS HISTORY, TOO. THE REASON WHY LUNI RHYMED SO DIFFERENT IN THE BEGINNING IS BECUZ I WROTE THAT SHIT

HE RHYMED LIKE ME IN THE BEGINNING BECUZ HE WAS USING MY RHYME SCHEMES, MY DELIVERY PATTERNS. WHEN HE CHANGED HIS NAME, HE CHANGED HIS STYLE, AND NO ONE CAN SAY HE RHYMED LIKE HIM AFTER THAT! MY NIGGA CAME WITH HIS OWN STYLE, HIW OWN GAME, ON HIS OWN, AND I RESPECTED THAT BECAUSE HE HAD GROWN UP ON US. He WAS BEING A GROWN MAN AND HE BEEN ON ONE EVER SINCE THEN. I’VE WRITTEN SONGS FOR HIM SINCE HE’S BEEN LUNI COLEONE (“FUCC LIFE” & “GHETTO PRAYER”), BUT THAT’S JUST LOVE, IT AIN’T LIKE HE CAN’T DO IT ON HIS OWN. I WAS FEELIN THAT “WHAT’S BEEF” SHIT HIM AND IROCC DID WITH YUK ON UGA VOLUME 2. LUNI DON’T NEED NOTHING BUT HOT BEATS AND HE CAN COMPETE WITH ANYBODY. I ALWAYS FELT THAT WAY. IF I HAD TO PICK A STYLE I LIKED BETTER, LUNI COLEONE VERSUS LUNASICC, I’D HAVE TO TAKE MILLION WORDS, MILLION DOLLARS AND THE DOSIA WAITING TO INHALE LUNASICC. BUT I LIKE SOME OF THE COLEONE STUFF, TOO, AND I LIKE THE FACT THAT IT’S MY COUSIN DOING THINGS HIS WAY. THE STYLE HE USED ON “WHAT’S BEEF” WITH YUK wAS HOT AND I’D LIKE TO HEAR MORE OF THAT. “BEEF IS WHEN YA WIFE IS WALKIN THE DOG / COME BACK TO GET HER PURSE AND FIND HER KIDS ON THE LAWN / ...KILLAS ALL IN THE BUSHES / SHE TOOK HER LAST BREATH WONDERIN IF THE NEIGHBORS WAS LOOKING / THAT’S BEEF!” YES SIR!

AND THAT, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IS MY INPUT ON THE LUNASICC VERSUS LUNI COLEONE DEBATE.

Sacramento, CA based Luni Coleone has teamed up with Portland, Oregon’s Cool Nutz on a collaboration album called “Every Single Day”. The album features guest appearances from the likes of Super Producer Bosko (Kanye West, E-40, Bone Thugs, and more), Kuddie Mak, Rocafella, Maniac Lok, and more. The hit single “That Doe” is a hot track, and you can check it out on their MySpace page. The album hits stores on June 5th under Always Hustlin/Jus Family Records.

Top-Album
Westcoast-Banger inkl.
