The Return of The Living Dead?
We would like to apologize for the lack of updates, due to the fact, nothing has been really news-worthy, except for great news and much welcomed homecoming of “Mr. Seldom-Seen,” DJ Total K-OSS. WestWorld Records and abvdlaw.com again welcomes our big homie home and back on the concrete jungles. Those who know him, knows that he is the glue that keeps Above The Law together. We hope to get some exclusive audio and video interviews in the upcoming weeks from the group. For the past few years, Above The Law has been held down by one brother who we all know as KM.G. We are proud to say it’s time to get your “handz dirty” K-OSS and bring that sound that you took part in giving birth and establishing the West coast as a Hip-Hop powerhouse too.
What’s up with Big Hutch? Well, the homie is still stretched out in the pen doing his time in the belly of Uncle Sam. He wants to let you know that his spirits are up and he thanks everyone who has sent letters of encouragement, money, and of course the flicks of some “Ms. New Booties” which never hurt hahahaha. At the end of this update, those who want to write the big homie, the address will be provided below. Hutch wants everyone to know that he is coming back with a vengeance and he has in fact re-invented himself. Fans will hear more detailed lyrics dealing with his time being in prison, in solitary confinement, and with perils of society in general. Don’t get it twisted, Hutch is still bringing that gangsta shit, but ATL has always been known as the “gangsta rappers who always have a message in their music.” Maybe the hardships experienced by the group, on a personal and professional level, will bring out the best in everyone individually and as a group. WestWorld Records believe that not only the west-coast, but Hip-Hop in general needs a group like Above The Law. Why? Because the group is still relevant and they are far from being washed up. Not to many groups are delivering lyrics of substance, and Hip-Hop needs some legends in the game who are loved by Crips, Bloods, Black Nationalists, Mexicans, Muslims, B.G’s and O.G’s.
Currently, there’s a lot of friction here in California between African Americans and our Hispanic/Chicano brothers and sisters and hopefully ATL can once again unite with brothers like Frost and show some Black and Brown unity and stop the madness that’s occurring in our streets while Uncle Sam sits back and laughs at our apparent ignorance. We are hoping that Hutch will reveal his intended release date to us in the very near future and when he does, you will be the first to know.
In other related news, Hutch and Damon X will be working hard in developing the clothing lines of “Gregory Fernard” and “Amerika X.” There’s a lot of clothing lines out there and both lines will appeal to everyone regardless of demographics.
WestWorld Records have been getting a lot of e-mail and we would like to state that we appreciate every single person, who has taken time out to write us, but a lot of the questions being asked in the e-mails have been answered in full at our message board. A lot of the questions have been redundant and you can find the answers, plus other goodies in the Parliament (forum board). If you haven’t joined, then you are missing out. Also, there are many people still asking about demos, submitting beats, or having ATL appear on records, mix-tapes, etc. In case some of you don’t read the Dispatch section, it’s kind of hard right now for Hutch to make guest appearances on records, while he is in Federal Prison. Again, those artists and/or companies who are interested in booking ATL or the members individually for tracks, beats, interviews, tours, etc. you must have the finances to do so. Management has told us to please relay the message, that if you have a budget and want ATL services, then you can send a correspondence to
management@westworldrecords.com. Only serious inquiries will be answered. We also must state that demos are not being accepted at this time.
Lastly, WestWorld Records and ATL would like to thank brothers like MC Eiht who has been pluggin’ the name of ATL in several interviews recently. With so many egos that engulf the left-side of the country and Hip-Hop in general, it’s always great to see other respected artists showing love especially to a group like ATL, who have brought so much to this game, but have had others continue to receive the props for something they have no rights to. Thank you Eiht for the love, we support you and ask all our fans to support another west-coast legend in the game. Continue to build your record collection and get all of Eiht’s solo albums and all the Compton’s Most Wanted albums, Geeaahhh!! We would also like to send a shout to another soldier in the field, who has been holding it down for Hutch and the group in general, the up and coming artist, Young Mad.
