Warlocc: Whut up Sociopathixxx. Let the people know where do you come from and who you are.

Sociopathixxx: I am from St.Paul, Minnesota originally but I have been based out of Atlanta for the last 6 years.

Is the name Sociopathixxx just a name or more like a split personality, showing up on the mic? Where you've got it from?

It's a part of who I am. The name represents how I am against the society around me. I named myself Sociopathixxx because I am trying to bring that rebellious energy that created a lot of the early Hip-Hop.

Would you consider yourself a lil bit as a "socioptath" or is that just the aggessive, depressive way you rap?

Yeah, you can say I am to a certain degree. I have been an outsider for a lot of my life. I rap the way I do to articulate feelings and thoughts a lot of frustrated and aggravated people have.

You're on the independant label Black Reign Enterprises. Tell us a lil bit who's on the label and how many people are involved beside the music?

Well the label was really started by myself to promote my album. I had a old label before but the artists were to young at the time to take everything real serious. Right now Black Reign Enterprises is primarily pushing my album. We have two other artists who are affiliated but are also building there own labels up. They names are Isosceles and Insanity. They both are on my album and we all get down together doing shows and promoting are albums. I do most of the business shit for my label right now. The only person really putting work into the label besides me is the Supreme Ayatollah. He is also a producer, we are working on my new album right now.

Have you ever tried to get signed on another label before?

No, I never really thought I would get signed by these major labels out here. Now adays they all seem to want the same carbon copy rappers. Anyways I also admired artists who ran they own shit like Esham, Lil James, Master P, E-40... people doing it independent.

What is life like in Atlanta? Do you think there's a difference to other cities in the US, something special about it?

Well ATL is real tight it's got a lot of shit going on all the time. I grew up in the North but the whole vibe overall is better down south to me. I travel a lot so I see other places, I like to check how everyones doing they shit.

What does a common day in the life of Sociopathixxx look like?

I am mostly working on my music, since I run the label I am always doing promotions, making calls and setting up shows. I hustle on the side to keep my money right. This music shit ain't making me rich right now, but I do it for the love.

"Graffiti Poetry" is one of the most aggressive, powerful and impressive albums I've hear in a while, from the artwork to the music. The album is 100% hardcore, no singing or club hits. Was the frustration based on personal issues and what was the drive to create an album like this?

Well its kind of like a snippet of the topics my future albums are going to touch on. The overall vibe of the album is the way it is because thats just the way I bring it on the mic. I am feed up with so much bullshit in the world and in the music industry that it all comes out when I rhyme.

Would you say it's a concept album? Did you take some tracks off because the didn't fit to the rest?

Well every time I record it's usually for a purpose. I didn't have any tracks I left off this album. Everything I recorded that I intended to feature on the album made it to the album. The concept of this album was to showcase some of my versatility. I think every song shows a glimpse of some of my different styles. Most of the album was written between 97 and 2000. Most of the beats where done a few years back. A couple of the tracks I made back in 97 though.

Tell us about the collaboration with the South Park Coalition's K-Rino? How you came in contact, what was the vibe in the studio like?

Well that was real cool cause hes one of the best MCs ever in my mind. So he's a legend to me. Basicly I just reached out to him and we talked on he phone and he was down to put something down. We didn't even record our parts together, he did his out there and I put it in the mix at my studio. We met face to face later on when I was out in Texas. He's real down to earth, treated me like fam.

What about success. Are you happy how things are working right now?

Well I am just getting started in my opinion. I don?t think I have done anything yet where I can say I am a big success. I want to get into more markets and get more listeners. I am pleased with my progress so far but I definetly have a lot of work to do still.

Talk about your new projects. What's coming up next?

Well I have 2 mix CDs on the streets that features lots of artists that are unsigned or real underground. I am always trying to network with people striving to rise in this music game. I finished a new album called "Barbed Wire Memoirs". We are going to giving it away free on the website for a quick minute. Then it's gonna be for sale in the fall. It's just a little something to hold people over till I finish "Anti-Social". That's kind of like my project that's gonna raise the standard for a lot of people. I guarantee its going to be special.

What can we expect from the next album comparing to "Graffiti Poetry"?

Well it's still going to be hard, but I think the music will be even better. The tracks are being co-produced by the Supreme Ayatollah. All I can say is that he is a dope producer. Rhymings my first love, I only produce out of necessity. I guess I prefer to co-produce.

Any guest apperances?

It's not going to be any guest appearances. I am going to do it all vocally myself. I am going to do some collaborations in the future but I want to show people that its possible for an artists to hold it down for a whole album. I doubt I will change my mind, but anything's possible.

Where else people can check you out? Are you featured somewhere?

Right now I am on Isosceles album. He is on sale on the internet and in stores. I had a couple offers to collaborate with some people, but I wasn't feeling they shit so I turned it down.

What do you think about the whole music industry nowadays?

I am mad at it a lot of the time. It's been making money of artists for so many years and stifling a lot of creativity. It's fucked up, cause they ain't trying to give a balanced view. It's all the same image nowadays and most the rappers have the same delivery. When the industry figured out how to successfully market Hip-Hop to make millions on a regular basis, it halted a lot of artist development. When hip-hop got big on the radio it really closed the door for alternative artists because the general public only go to the stores to buy the artists they hear on the radio. They don't even think it's other good artists out there. They only messing with those who got a million dollar marketing plan. I could go on and on about the industry politics all day long.

What's your opinion to the success of many rappers you can see on MTV?

I am happy to see my people getting paid, but I wish it was more variety being put out there. I know the artists are half way responsible but I look at these big corporations who own all the stations that keep making us get the same type of shit over and over.

Do you listen to the radio?

From time to time... I don't have much free time. I prefer to bump some shit that I found that sounds good.

What equipment do you make your beats with? Can you make beats all day or do you have to be in a special mood or something?

I produce with the MPC2000XL. I use it to sequence all my tracks. I don't sample much at all. I used a proteus2000 to make almost all the sounds for Graffiti Poetry. I am using newer gear for the next album. When it come to making beats, I guess It comes and goes. I might not make a track for 6 months then I will make 20 in like a couple months.

What kind of music are you bumpin right now? What's in your deck?

Umm... I got the Yukmouth & C-Bo Thuglordz album. I still listening to Twista and Ghostface Killa. Immortal Technique... It's been lots of good stuff coming out in 2004 though.

Who would you like to collab with next or in general?

Man it's a big list. M.O.P., Chino XL, Yukmouth, Killah Priest, Shabazz the Disciple, definetly Immortal Technique. I respect a lot of people... Hopefully down the line I will work with more artists.

Who do you think are the hottest rappers in your city right now and who you respect the most/the less?

Well I like Lil Jon out of Atl. A lot of people don?t know he been grinding for a long time out here. I gotta respect that, plus I like the hard tracks he makes and the way they he be wilding out. I think Thug Luv is tight too, he out of College Park. I hope he get his album out soon, he out there putting it down. My homie Lingo M is real dope to. He used to be in a group called Shadz of Lingo. Ishues is a rapper out of Athens, he is one of the best in Georgia. He is on tour with KRS-One right now. He's a battle mc who can also spit knowledge. I see him doing big shit in the future. It's a few other cats out here doing they thing, I got respect for them. I don't really have any animosity with anyone. I don't try to approach anyone like I am in competition with them. I am more the type to build networks with other folks.

Do you remember your first albums you bought? Who are your personal legends of rap?

I grew up in what a lot of people call the golden era of rap. I was listening to NWA, Eazy-E, Public Enemy, BDP, The Geto Boys, Big Daddy Kane & LL Cool J. I mean it was more to... damn all of them are legends to me. It's also people like Ice Cube, Kool G Rap... He the greatest rapper to me. Damn others are like Big L, Big Pun, K-Rino, Tupac, Bun B, the DOC. I can do a whole interview about the people I think are legends.

Tell us about your feelings concerning the state of society in the USA or even the world? Cuz you named many factors on your Cover like AIDS.

I think the USA is in big trouble and the whole world in general. Big corporations are buying off politicians and destroying our environments. People are starving man, you got people living from pay check to pay check. In the USA they try to make people think the rest of the world is a terrible place and it's so great here because they give us all these toys and distractions to shield us from the real issues. People don't want to hear about how AIDS was made to control the population of black people. They want to see how much cellulite their favorite celebrity has on there ass. People need to wake up and see the agenda being pushed by our government is slowing putting everyone into a state of marshall law.

What do you think of the US politics and the situation in Iraq?

I think it's all bullshit. But this country was founded on lies and deceit so why would it change now. Iraq was something planed years ago. They used the world trade fiasco as a cover up to go into other countries and wage war for profit.

What about all those conspiracy theories?

I think a lot of them hold weight. A lot of times years down the line conspiracy theories are often shown to be be very true.

Do you care wether Bush or Kerry wins the upcoming election?

No not at all. New year same shit.

Do you have kids and what will you teach them about life?

No children, sometimes I am glad cause it's a lot of madness in this world. Plus I am far from perfect myself.

Are you religious?

No I am not at all. I am a 5%er.

Would you like to travel around the world, seeing Europe for example?

Yes I would love to see the whole world, I love to travel. I would like to come out there and see how they respond to my message.

What are the most important things in your life?

Doing music and trying to have my voice heard. I live for this right now. I want to open up peoples eyes and ears so they will look for the truth in things so we can make some changes before it's too late.

Some last words or shout outs?

Peace out to every one who listens to my music with an open mind.

und du schick mal die CD...
