Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of two others at 6610 West Sam Houston Parkway South about 8 p.m. last Thursday (November 10).

The suspect, Vincent Depaul Stredic (b/m, 39), is charged with murder in the 177th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Christopher Barriere, 44, of Houston, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Barriere is also known as legendary Houston rapper Mr. 3-2 of the Screwed Up Click.

A second male was transported to an area hospital to be treated for his injuries.

HPD Homicide Division Officers M. Arrington and C. Sharp reported:
Stredic and three friends in his vehicle pulled into a parking lot of a gas station at the above address to purchase alcohol. As Stredic and his friends (Barriere and the two other males) were in the parking lot, for unknown reasons, Stredic removed a shotgun from the trunk of his car and fatally shot Mr. Barriere. Stredic got into his vehicle and fled the scene.

Moments later, Stredic returned to the scene, exited his vehicle, threatened the second male with the shotgun and fled the scene. Stredic then returned to the scene a third time, exited his vehicle and shot the second male. The second male was transported by HFD paramedics to an area hospital. A bystander pumping gas was also injured by the gunfire, but did not require medical attention. The third male friend in the group was not injured.

Stredic fled the scene a third time in his vehicle, a silver, four-door 2008 Ford Taurus.
Further investigation developed information on Stredic’s whereabouts and he was taken into custody today (November 15) without incident.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - Local rapper Z-Ro was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after authorities said he beat his ex-girlfriend in April.

According to court documents, Z-Ro, Joseph Wayne McVey, 40, was supposed to meet his ex-girlfriend at a restaurant near the Galleria, but the restaurant was closed.

McVey told her to come to his home so they could talk, according to court records.

When the woman arrived at his home, she said McVey started to slap and punch her. He dragged her through the house while holding a pistol, according to court documents.

The woman said the assault lasted for about an hour and a half.

She said she went to the bathroom with her backpack, which had her phone inside, and turned on the recorder. She went back to the room where McVey was and he continued to abuse her, according to court documents.

The nearly 21-minute recording was heard by authorities and charges were filed.

Back in late 2016, Houston rap scene veteran Mr. 3-2 (real name: Christopher Barriere) was gunned down in the prime of his artistic life.

On Wednesday, in a Houston courtroom, his killer was sentenced to a lengthy prison stint for that murder.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office announced that a jury had given Vincent Depaul Stredic 30 years in prison for his role in Barriere's violent end.
