Natas comin back...

There's a show on the twenty fifth of this month in Flint, the show will see the return of NATAS, Esham, Mastamind and TNT together again. Also DarkerSound had a meeting with Esham, and things seem to be coming together, on a side note, James Smith was also released from prison, could this be the return of RLP?

T-Boz of the best-selling female music group TLC, has filed for divorce from her husband, rapper Mack 10, saying he has committed adultery and threatened to kill her.

A temporary restraining order also has been issued against the rapper, barring him from coming within 100 yards of his wife.

T-Boz filed the divorce papers and requested the restraining order June 8. She is seeking full custody of their 3-year-old daughter, Chase Anela.

Mack 10, denied the allegations in court documents filed Friday. In them, he said his wife has made the allegations "for the sole purpose of attempting to gain an advantage in these proceedings" and to prevent him from seeing their daughter.

The couple married in August 2000 and are presently separated. T-Boz said in an affidavit that Mack 10 has threatened on several occasions to kill her, the most recently coming June 8.

The first incident T-Boz cites in the affidavit allegedly occurred in October 2002. She said she was leaving Mack 10's home with Chase when the rapper grabbed their daughter out of the car and told T-Boz that she couldn't leave.

"My husband informed me that he would smash my teeth down my throat," she stated in the affidavit. "I asked my husband to give my daughter back to me and I reached for her, and my husband pushed me to the ground twice.

"At that point, my husband grabbed me around my neck and choked me," threatening to kill her, T-Boz said.

She said police officers had to assist her and her daughter in leaving the residence. Police reports on the incident were not immediately available.

The violence continued, she said, when she told him in March 2003 that their marriage wasn't working. At that point, the affidavit states, Mack 10 threatened to have her "erased."

T-Boz said she now employs around-the-clock security. Her director of security, James Clark, said in an affidavit that Mack 10 has called him asking T-Boz's location, a request he refused.

He said the rapper told him June 7 that he "don't want to take it to the streets and when I have a lot of luv for a brutha don't bother him, but when I don't, things can get ugly. I am going to do what it takes to find her."

The rapper called again the next day and said T-Boz "doesn't realize that she is putting everyone who is around her life in jeopardy," according to the affidavit. When Clark asked him what he meant, Mack 10 responded, "Don't play police games with me," the affidavit states.

The divorce papers were filed that same day. No details were provided in any court documents regarding the rapper's alleged adultery.

Mack 10's attorney, Randall Kessler, said his client did not want the divorce to play out in the media, but said the allegations are "certainly denied." A message left for T-Boz's attorney, Charles Mathis, was not immediately returned.

In his written response to the court, Mack 10 argued that he should not have to pay alimony as T-Boz's last record contract exceeded $25 million.

A Fulton County judge on Friday granted him permission to see his daughter on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and has arranged it so T-Boz and Mack 10 will not have to come in contact with each other.

Mack 10 has been ordered to appear in court June 22.

Mack 10 recently teamed up with rappers Ice Cube and WC to form the group Westside Connection. The group released the album, Terrorist Threats, in December.

TLC made headlines in 2002 when one of its members, Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes, was killed in a car collision on a country road outside La Ceiba, Honduras. Lopes was a controversial figure, who once burned down the home of her lover, former NFL wide receiver Andre Rison.

Even from his cell in a bleak upstate New York prison, Jamal Barrow is shining.
Three years after going to prison for his role in a New York nightclub shooting involving Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, Barrow, who goes by the name "Shyne," is rapping his way toward a multimillion-dollar fortune.

From behind bars, he's created his own Gangland Records label, lured music execs to his prison for negotiations and convinced Universal Music's Island Def Jam to sign a megabucks deal without even hearing the tracks.

While previous published reports valued the deal - signed in April - at around $3 million, new details provided to The Post show that the five-album pact could be worth in excess of $30 million.

While much of that will go toward marketing and promoting and various other costs, Shyne himself will make many millions, depending on how well his albums sell.

Shyne's Def Jam deal, inked in April, followed a courtship with executives at other major record companies, including Warner and Sony, with meetings held in the visiting room at the prison.

His first album under Gangland, titled "Godfather Buried Alive," will be released on Aug. 10 and consists of 10 tracks he recorded before going to jail.

"He's very hands-on; he's approved everything from logos to fonts to color," said one source close to Shyne. "FedExes are going back and forth all the time."

Another source said, "Those who have traveled to prison and sat with Shyne felt empowered to market with his vision."

The signing represents a significant coup for new Def Jam head Antonio "L.A." Reid and his top deputy, Kevin Liles, the exec most responsible for the signing.

"No one heard [the recordings]," said one source. "It was about Kevin's belief in Shyne."

The 25-year-old Shyne, who was born in Belize, but grew up in Brooklyn, is serving 10 years after being convicted for a 1999 shootout in Manhattan's Club New York - the case that infamously became known as the "Puffy Trial."

Combs, also known as "Puff Daddy," was accompanied by then-gal pal Jennifer Lopez at the time of the shooting. He was acquitted of weapons and bribery charges.

Shyne claimed he fired in self-defense, and the case - now being handled by famed attorney Alan Dershowitz - is on appeal.

Last week, Shyne met a Post reporter in the visiting area at Clinton County Correctional in Dannemora - a stark facility that dominates the small upstate town.

He was polite and amiable but declined to be interviewed. Dressed in a red polo shirt and green prison-issue pants, he said he'd converted to Judaism and didn't normally see visitors on the Sabbath.

The only hitch in Shyne's big-bucks venture is trying to get a leave-pass to film a video to accompany the album's release.

He plans to ask a judge to grant him permission to leave prison temporarily.

The first single of the new album, called "More or Less," produced with Def Jam star Kanye West, has already been leaked to radio.

Snoop has a new place to hang his hat for his upcoming solo album: The Neptunes' label, Star Trak. Snoop has signed a deal with the hitmaking producers' imprint, according to the team's Chad Hugo. "We're trying to bring him back to Chronic-era Snoop," Hugo said, referring to the 1992 Dr. Dre album on which Snoop made his debut. In the recent record-business reshuffling, Star Trak left its original home, Arista, for industry powerhouse Interscope Records, which already houses artists like Eminem, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent . Snoop's yet-untitled next album, which will also be released through Snoop's own Doggystyle imprint, is due by the end of the year. It will be one of the first two albums the Neptunes release through their new partnership with Interscope. The other is the major-label debut from Houston rapper Slim Thug.

Abwarten...die können schon produzieren, wenn sie nicht gerade den
nächsten dicken Chart-Hit geplant haben.
Der Track von Snoop auf dem letzten Nerd Album war eigentlich ziemlich
gut. Hiess glaube ich "It Blows My Mind" oder so...hat er sehr gut
gerappt und der Beat hat gepumpt.

Corey "C-Murder" Miller is about to go through it again. A judge in Gretna, Louisiana set a date for the second murder trial for the rapper for September 12, 2005.

Miller was convicted last September for the shooting death of 16-year-old Steve Thomas, 16, in 2002.

He was never sentenced due to allegations that the prosecution withheld evidence. Miller faces a mandatory life sentence, should he be found guilty.

Thomas was shot after the two allegedly had a confrontation in a now defunct Jefferson Parish nightclub.

While nine defense witnesses testified that Miller had nothing to do with the shooting or the beating, in some cases they gave conflicting testimony.

Two witnesses produced by the prosecution, one a security guard for the club, testified that they both saw Miller and friends assault the teenager.

One of the witnesses said that she did not actually see Miller holding the gun, but saw sparks from a gun where Miller's hand would have been.

When the jury convicted him, his family immediately responded and said they would fight the decision, with Master P. claiming that the local system was corrupt.

"The whole system there is corrupt, but I think the Judge (Martha Sassone) wants it to change." Miller told AllHipHop.com Sassone granted the retrial. "There are so many witnesses that said C didn't do this. Look at what the D.A. has done, clearing records and that kind of thing. Everyone assumed he was guilty but people testified he didn't do it. Now he's sitting there incarcerated and we believe he's innocent."

One of the key arguments for the defense's motion for a retrial, was the revelation that local detectives cleared a prosecution witness' parking tickets and an arrest warrant for felony theft charges.

In December, Miller's attorneys produced a key prosecution witness that said she did not see Miller shoot Thomas and witnessed another man with a gun before the shooting.

The woman testified under oath that she stood on a chair and witnessed Miller beating Thomas but fell and did not witness the shooting.

She said moments before the shooting, she witnessed another man known as "Calliope Slim" with a gun. The woman claimed that she told Jefferson Parish detectives before the trial, but didn't reveal the information during the trial because no one asked her.

Yesterday, Miller pleaded innocent to the charges, as he at the outset of the first trial.

hoffe es steht nicht schon wo:

Snoop Dogg unterschreibt bei Star Trak
16.06.2004 (Mi) Redakteur: Redaktion
-------------------------------------

>>"We're trying to bring him back to Chronic-era
Snoop."<<

Star Trak wechselte Anfang des Jahres von Arista
zu Interscope Records. Das noch unbetitelte Snoop
Album, welches dann auch über "Doggstyle Records"
erscheint, wird eine der ersten Veröffentlichungen
von Star Trak seit ihrem Wechsel sein. Ein weiterer
Release ist das Debutalbum von Houston Rapper Slim
Thug.

da gehört er auch hin...

Kool Keith & Twista auf neuem Prodigy-Album
17.06.2004 (Do) Redakteur: Arne2000
-------------------------------------
letzten Album "The Fat of the Land" zu hören. Davon
abgesehen gibt es aber kaum noch Parallelen zum neuen
Prodigy-Album "Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned":
Der neue Sound soll weitaus breiter und elektronischer
sein.
"Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned" erscheint
im September.

It's early spring in a Los Angeles recording studio and history is about to be made. Nelly is working on his two upcoming albums, Sweat and Suit. In walks his manager, Fo'Reel Entertainment CEO Cudda (pronounced "Cooter") Love, accompanied by a man he used to manage: the minister formerly known as Murder Mase.

Nelly's people are engaging in revelry, but once Mase walks in, the jokes come to a halt and everyone shows respect and love for the former Bad Boy, who's immaculately dressed in a three-piece suit. Nelly, who's working on a track called "I Still Love You," takes a shot in the dark.
He asks Cudda to ask the retired Mase to jump on the record.
After Nelly plays Mase the song a couple of times, the former shiny-suit man surprises everyone. Not only does he agree to rap on the record, he starts spitting with the swagger of the old Mase. There's no mic rust. Within minutes, everyone in the studio swarms into the control room, where the session is happening. Mason Betha is back (see "Mase Is Officially Back; Bad Boy Family Feels New Energy").

Fast-forward a couple of months and a few miles to the Paramount Studios lot near Los Angeles. There, the video for Mase's Chris Robinson-directed video, "Welcome Back," is being made. "This is history!" Mase yells. He's still dipped in his gear, but this time he's wearing a yellow Polo shirt and shorts to match. His sneaker game is on point, too: yellow-and-aqua Air Force Ones that shine almost as brilliantly as the canary gold on his watch. His waves are so tight that if he were in fact in Uptown New York, everyone would say they were spinning.

"This is going to be a great day," he continues, his dimples bulging. That session with Nelly has led to this morning in Cali. After hearing Mase rap on the track, the light bulb went off in Cudda's head: Mase still has what it takes to make an album. The timing is perfect because, as Mase puts it, he's evolved as a man and a father (he's expecting his first child this year).

Mase and Cudda spent weeks working on the bulk of the album, aptly titled Welcome Back, on the down-low with a bunch of up-and-coming producers. So after an album's worth of material was done, all Mase had to do was call up P. Diddy and tell Puff he's returning.

"I left because I had to get my mind right," Mase says about April 4, 1999, the day he officially retired from the rap game to focus on religion. "I wasn't mentally ready to deal with how hip-hop was and the role I played in hip-hop. I had to do it for me and for the sake of my spirituality. The reason for me coming back is, now I can handle it. It won't control me; I control it. Before, I wasn't ready. Even [after] three years away, I wasn't ready to take this stand.

"Them days is over," Mase says, as he catches a bit more than an eyeful of a pair of models. "They gotta put some clothes on," he insists. His tone is, as usual, nonchalant, but his face is serious. "I want them to respect themselves. That's why we doing this, to be of influence. I don't want the young ladies with their shorts that short. I want the ladies to respect themselves. If I was her father, I wouldn't want her with her shorts that short.

"No cheeks out on a Mase video set," he adds, before pointing to his dimples. "Only these cheeks. We gonna teach the ladies they can still respect themselves and still be beautiful. That's what's up."

Besides, what would Mr. Betha's 'hood look like with half-naked women running around? "The concept of the video is from the 'Mister Rogers' [Neighborhood'] scene," Mase says. "I take the sneaker off and let everyone know 'It's gonna be a beautiful day.' After that, I walk outside and you see a young lady in a room, she has posters of me on the wall. She's been waiting five years for me to come back. She looks out the window and says, 'Wow, that's Mase!' Then she gets downstairs and by the time she gets there, it's too late: She missed me. Then we're just taking the video from scene to scene and showing the love and support that everyone has showed me.

"We didn't want it to be too controversial," he adds. "We just wanted something the people would buy into and just welcome me back."

Mase says Welcome Back won't have too many guest appearances, and there won't be any songs degrading women or even talking about "sexual acts." His time away from music has given him clarity.

"This time, what makes the music so beautiful is that I'm doing it from a clear-headed perspective," he explains. "Not feeling that I have to say this or I have to please these people. Now, it's just good music: vibrant, up-tempo, real good music. It's amazing that it still came out wonderful. There is a way you can make incredible music without following the so-called formula."

Despite the minister's religious beliefs, he didn't switch his style up drastically enough to alienate the fans. "It was simple," he says. "[After] being away for five years, there are still a lot of things I want to talk about, I just couldn't fit them all on the same album. But I didn't want to come back so different that it scared you. I wanted to do something that was beautiful that you could relate to, something that you can think is retro Mase. Then, as I grow as an artist, I'll allow the audience to grow with me."

Welcome Back is due in August.

Paris Hilton mit Rapalbum?
18.06.2004 (Fr) Redakteur: DÄFF
-------------------------------------
*Bild*[3] Paris Hilton, die Erbin der milliardenschweren
Hilton-Hotelkette und aktueller TV-Star in der
Sendung "A Simple Life", arbeitet mit niemand geringerem
als *Lil' Jon*[1] an einem Album.

Während Paris
gerade in Verhandlungen zu einigen Major-Labels
steht, besagen diverse Meldungen, dass einige Tracks
mit dem Dirty South Produzenten für ihr Album "Screwed"
sogar bereits fertiggestellt worden sein sollen.

Der "King Of Crunk" selbst dazu:

>>"We met at the MTV Movie Awards where we were hosting
pre-show. We talked about me doing some shit on her
album and so we hooked up and talked and its going down."
<<

Obwohl ihr Debüt-Album eigentlich primär ihre
Sangeskünste präsentieren sollte, kann man sich
nun vielleicht zusätzlich auf Rhymes & Flows der
Hilton freuen.

:bonk:

A video for rapper T.I. was being shot at the Fulton County (Ga.) Jail last night (June 17) while an inmate escaped for several hours. The prisoner, Cara Williams, was dressed in medical scrubs and slipped out a door for employees.

Jail officials said the video shoot was unauthorized and that it had nothing to do with Williams' escape. She was found six hours later at a gas station.

A spokesperson for Fulton County Sheriff Jackie Barrett said she had no idea a rap video was being filmed inside her jail. T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, has been in jail since April for violating probation for a 1998 drug conviction.

Lt. Clarence Huber said he didn't know how many people were in the jail filming the video, or who gave permission for the shoot to take place. "We did find out there was some sort of video being shot," Huber said. "There is a lot we're still looking into."

Huber insisted the video shoot didn't help Williams escape. She was being processed on a probation violation and was already wearing blue scrubs when she entered the jail.

Fulton County Chairwoman Karen Handel, who has long been critical of Barrett, blasted the sheriff for not knowing a rap video was being filmed in the 3,200-inmate jail.

"You're going to have a video crew roaming around the jail? I don't understand why that was even remotely considered," Handel said. "I don't care whether she knew or didn't know. The buck stops with her, and this should've been an automatic 'no.'"
