IT'S YOUR BOY RAPPER K !
The waiting is over!
Rapper K of S.P.C. presents us with LONG TIME COMING his long overdue debut album.
Known through his guest appearances on long players and anual SPC weekends, the dude made us curious about an album of his own. Finally it's here.
LONG TIME COMING is available, and I'm all excited. I'm aware, that K held freestyle sessions with Rino and Klondike Kat and together with the coalition appeared on numerous occations, not only in H-Town. That obligates somehow to quality and that's what i'm expecting.
Recorded in the SPC owned Landmine/ Black Book International Studios in H-Town, originated besides INTRO and OUTRO, 12 dope Tracks. Naturally under producers from Dope-E and K-Water to Papion.
The guest list alone is an absolutely oustanding gift. Not only do SPC originals K-Rino, Point Blank, Klondike Kat, Dope E and Murder-One have the word but also Ashlei Mayadia from the 144 Elite, Homie ThugStar and UK's Late.
Fortunally, K allowes the young and hungry rappers to the microphone. With "Hathifah", "M.E.N.I.S.", "Low -Key" and "Molew" fresh sounds drone out of the boxes directly into our ears.
In the opener of LONG TIME COMING, K starts his duet with Klondike Kat in an up tempo beat. The rap of the two compliment each other and are simply fresh. Cool...
I'LL GET BACK TO YOU gives us a first taste of the presence of the female guest rappers. "Hathifah", presents the well sung hook line to K's frilless storytelling. Nice...
In LIVE AND LEARN the wonderful Ashlei Mayadia accopanies us with her flawless soul voice. After only a short while listening to this song, I find it overwhelming. One of my most beloved ballades of the year.
With SOUTH PARK ft. K-Rino, Kat and Dope E it is clear in regards to where you come from in H-Town.
A super song with strong parts of our SPC elite.
It's time to turn up your system's volume.
In HIT THE HIGHWAY ft. ThugStar and Murder-One makes ones head go with the beat. So much so , that I tune down the bass somewhat.
I'm in the mood.
With M.E.N.I.S. and Low-Key two unknown GUARDIAN ANGELS over here bring us skills en masse. I'm absolutely and positively surprised. The rather smooth beat provides the two enough room for their chilly and still striking raps.
In EVERYDAY STRUGGLE, Rino and Dope-E make clear what's up. To a funky background bass line and an inconspicuous orchestra tune, slowly but surly forms my favorite song of the album. A truely doper song with strong parts of all participants. Great....
In I AIN'T NO GANGSTER, Rino explaines explicitly what the boys from SPC definitely never were. Rino is rounding the whole thing out with a very def orchestra hookline. Very nice...
FAKIN AND CAPPIN ounce again features K-Rino, Point Blank as well as Rapper Brent with a solid beat and funky background piano line.
On HANDS and STOP ALL THAT FRONTIN the before mentioned young talent has the word and is nonchalantly guided by K through the song.
The remarkable end is THE PRODUCT with parts from D.A.and Late, which represents the european part of SPC, as the Worldwide Speakers from Wolftown, UK.
I'd like to mention Intro and Outro, who are bringing such a dope beat, that I wish to hear a complete song thereof.
I personally sense LONG TIME COMING is a an absolutely successful debut album and a shining continuation of previous SPC releases. One hopes, that K will go on to hold the SPC banner high and further sweeten our ears with dope stuff like this.
Really good work, dude !
