Startet Chip Fu ein Comeback? Habe bei YouTube ein mir bisher unbekanntes Video gesehen, in dem er Reggae macht: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7zC_S66kDU. Ist auf keinen Fall schlecht. Am Ende des Videos wird dann auf seine Internetpräsenz hingewiesen (http://www.chipfu.com/), die allerdings noch nicht steht, sowie auf seine MySpace-Seite (http://www.myspace.com/chipfu), auf der man neben dem Track aus dem Video noch einen Rap- und einen Reggae-Track hören kann. Nicht mehr ganz so abgefahren wie früher, aber immer noch sehr gut. Auch der Reggae-Style gefällt mir.

Der war scheinbar ziemlich aktiv in jüngster Zeit:

He appears on The Art of One Mind (featured with El Da Sensei), which was also released in 2005.In 07 he appeared on the remix for "where are they now" by Nas.

Und das Album scheint in fortgeschrittenem Status zu sein:

And this album proves Chip remains on the pulse of the industry as an original forerunner to hip-hop as well as a paradigm to reggae music.

Along with BLAQ-INK and GSP , alliances for this project include heavyweight producers Ali Shaheed (Tribe Called Quest, Lucy Pearl, DAngelo), K Gardner, The Are (Russell from K-Otics), Budah(bustah) Needlez (50 Cent, Ludacris), S-1, Illmind (5o cent), Apathy, Beatminers (Blackmoon, Boot Camp Click), slopfunkdust , Kkut, vitamin D, kay of the foundation,Blackmilk(Monch), and others.

Those familiar with the lyrical antics and oracle style weve grown to expect, respect and love from Chip will not be disappointed by this solo debut project.

P.S.: Mir wurde bei der Suche kein Fu-Schnickens-Thread angezeigt, deshalb habe ich hier etwas neu eröffnet. Von mir aus kann er auch in einen allgemeinen Fu-Schnickens-Thread umbenannt werden.

Den Track mit El Da Sensei und noch nen anderen hab ich gehört und war leicht enttäuscht, da er so gut wie gar nicht schnell gerappt hat.

Hört sich aber trotzdem alles vielversprechend an und ich hoffe das Album erscheint bald...gerne auch mit Features von seinen alten
Fu-Schnickens Mitstreitern.

^ Auf dem Nas-Remix hat er z.B. eine kurze schnelle Stelle. Nicht in dem Maße wie früher, aber man kann hören, dass er's nicht ganz verlernt hat. Also abwarten und hoffen...

Es gibt auch ein neues Interview mit ihm (http://www.pfoundmusic.co.uk/chipfu_interview.htm), in dem er auch die Gründe seiner längeren Abstinenz nennt: "I went back to school and got my degree as a physical therapist assistant- I also got my second degree, masters in reiki and massage. Had a son and stayed focused."

Das Album heißt dann akademisch ebenfalls wertvoll "M.A.T.H. (Music Appreciation, Art, Time And Healing)" und wird zur Hälfte Rap- und zur Hälfte Reggae-Tracks beinhalten. Ein Releasedate wurde leider nicht genannt. Produziert haben bisher u.a. Ali Shaheed, Illmind, S1, Needlez, Austin und THE ARE.

Vielleicht geht er ja dann auf (Europa-)Tournee mit seinen Jungs... dann kann ich doch noch ein Fu-Schnickens-Konzert erleben

Irgendwo hatten wir das Thema mit dem Comeback Album schonmal, durchforste mal die Suche. Hatte mal vor ca. 2 Jahren eine entsprechende Meldung auf irgendeiner Label-Homepage gefunden. Bei Gelegenheit schaue ich mal ob ich das noch finde...

Fehlt leider nur die Energie von früher dabei,
