Aha, alles klar. Vielleicht geb ich mir mal ein paar Folgen. Hab schon öfter davon ghört aber nie bock gehabt mir das anzusehen. Jetzt bin ich aber mal gespannt wie Saigon überhaupt in so eine serie reinpasst.

würd mich auch interessieren, ausser es is die rolle des klischeerfüllenden rappers

saigon is jetzt bei violator gesigned, könnte also doch bald mal was werden mit dem album

In a recent post on his MySpace blog, Saigon announced that he has signed with Violator Management, a company that also represents 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes and Sean "Diddy" Combs.

"Yes it's officially official. I am now managed by Violator and the stakes are higher than ever, it's a problem," he wrote in a post dated Saturday (June 16). "God works in mysterious ways but he works. I'm very proud to be a part of such a prestigious company who has put in so much work in the business. Not only has Violator stood the test of time, they also are innovating the wave of the future so as we say in hood 'I'm good Money.' I've pretty much been managing myself this whole time (6 years) and already in this short time (a week), I've already seen a world of difference."

Saigon lashed out at his label, Atlantic Records, for the delay of his debut album The Greatest Story Never Told and also threatened to release the album without their persimisson.

His actions would cause a rift between him and the album's executive producer, Just Blaze.

In his Saturday post, Saigon also took the time to apologize to Blaze. "I know ya'll see the back and forth shit between us and I admit I was stupid for my part in it," he wrote. "And since I was dumb enough to engage in this online public feud, I'm man enough to use the same forum to apologize to him for not just calling him and expressing whatever I felt was wrong. If you read this my nigga, I apologize.

Bin jetzt doch endlich mal dazu gekommen mir "Warning Shots" zuzulegen. Kannte zuvor leider überhaupt nichts von ihm. Aber das Teil hat mich definitiv überzeugt. Find ihn wirklich sehr sehr cool, jetzt mal davon abgesehen ob er einer Derer ist, die New York "Back On The Map" bringen können oder nicht.

Album wird sofort geordert, wenn es soweit ist. Habe aber das Gefühl das könnte sich noch etwas hinziehen.

Das Album wird großartig, hab noch gar nichts von dem "Streetalbum" gehört. Kommt es weil er sein Album noch nicht veröffentlichen "kann", oder was? Track ist on fire

hoffen wir mal, dass er nicht so endet wie ein 50cent, aber talent hat saigon auf alle fälle.

Soll am 4.12.2007 nun tatsächlich so weit sein und laut Saigon dass beste Rap-Album der letzten 20 Jahre werden . Ne ist klar, bei Features von Bun B, Cassidy, Jay-Z, Layzie Bone, Faith Evans, Q-Tip, Baby Cham, Devin the Dude u.a. liegt es auch nahe dass da eines der größten Werke der Rap-Geschichte bei rauskommt

wenn überhaupt noch was rauskommt... irgendwie war doch so gut wie nie eines der alben, die jahrelang verschoben wurden, gut. Und bei Saigon kann ich mir das trotz seiner ganz guten Raps erst recht nicht vorstellen... ich rechne mit abosluten 0815 pop-south-halb.east-beats

Kann das echt nicht verstehen warum er jetzt plötzlich Hinz und Kunz auf seinem Album haben will, kann ja eigentlich nur die Label-Vorgabe sein. Hätte nicht gedacht dass Saigon sich da so reinreden lässt, aber wahrscheinlich wollte er nach all den Jahren einfach nur endlich mal ein Album raushauen und wenigstens eine halbwegs ansehnliche Stückzahl verkaufen um ein bißchen Kohle zu bekommen. Da muss man halt Kompromisse eingehen...

Hatte wenigstens bei ihm die Hoffnung die Features würden passend ausfallen. Bei Papoose hatte ich mich schon längst an den Gedanken gewöhnt, Leute zu featuren die nur die Hälfte seines Könnens zeigen (können).

Saigon's Album Pushed Back Again

It looks like Saigon won't be able to tell his story until some time in 2008, as his album is once again pushed back.


The rapper's debut album, The Greatest Story Never Told was set to hit shelves on December 4, but label reps have confirmed it will not be released until early next year. An exact date has not been announced.


SOHH caught up with the self proclaimed Yardfather, whose album has been plagued with setbacks for years and who has had several publicized bouts with Atlantic, his label, is surprisingly cool with the decision this time around.


"It ain't comin out till its ready," Sai told SOHH. "The album's not even done yet. Just Blaze is such a perfectionist, even more so than me. And we keep finding things that can make it better..."




The Story isn't specific to Saigon, but it's that of Black people in general. The rapper said his album is about ways that African-Americans can improve their standing in this country.


"It's the story of what we need to do as black people to get on track," he explained. "We fu**ed up in the country. Our mindset is fu**ed up."


The album tackles such issues as being a father to your children, a positive contributor to your community and becoming economically responsible.


"If I go to any inner city and walk up to the average black man and ask him what his goals are he's gonna say, 'Im tryin to get this money, I'm tryin to get this paper,' but if I ask him what he wants to do with it, he's not gonna have an answer," Sai said. "He won't say, 'I want to invest it, or I want to buy land."


That's the mentality he said his record seeks to correct. Though, being that this is the hour of gangster rap with recent releases like American Gangster smashing box office competition in theaters, and albums and videos piggy-backing the theme, Sai realizes his sales may suffer.


"It don't matter if I don't sell a lot of records," he admitted. "I'm signed to a major label, unless I was selling 50 Cent numbers, I wasn't gonna make no money off this record anyway. All [the label is] gonna say is, 'you didn't recoup.' I got a roof over my head and food on my table ... I don't need to be rich, I'm good ... but I have to be able to look at myself in the mirror."


Though fans will have to wait before they can look for Saigon on the rack, the rapper said it'll be worth it.


"They gonna appreciate it when it comes out," Sai said. "They gonna understand why it took so long, because it's a masterpiece. You can't rush greatness.


Saigon recently released the video for his first single "Come On Baby" and also dropped a remix of the song featuring Jay-Z.The rapper also released a mixtape called The Moral of the Story. The album features original beats and rhymes, the "Come On Baby" remix, "Who Can Get Busy" and "What a Life."

Von mir aus brauch die Scheibe gar nicht mehr zu kommen, das was er da an Features aufgefahren hatte ist doch eh alles überflüssig...

Ich denke der wird es trotz seines Labels Wechsels wohl nie schaffen ein Album zu bringen..
