Big Gates/Slip-N-Slide/Atlantic recording artist Plies has officially announced the upcoming release of his debut album, "THE REAL TESTAMENT." The eagerly awaited collection - which features the breakthrough hit single, "Shawty (Feat. T-Pain)" - will drop into stores nationwide on August 7th.

"I got the most anticipated situation in the streets right now," says Plies. "The streets told me that."

Hailed as "one of the realest you will ever know," Plies has already established a phenomenal underground and street presence on the strength of his infamous mixtapes and live show. For his major label debut, the Ft. Myers, Florida-bred rapper relays tales of street struggle, making money, and ghetto queens - what Plies refers to as "reality music." Plies will return to Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas during the week of his album release, where he'll complete a whirlwind promo tour of over 10 cities in just four days, including Ft. Myers, Orlando, Tampa, Miami, Jacksonville, Savannah, Charlotte, and Columbia.

"I've been in the music business for a minute now," says Slip-N-Slide CEO Ted Lucas. "I'm confident that Plies has the potential to be one of the game's top players. The success of 'Shawty' is only the beginning. Plies represents a new energy in hip-hop."

"Shawty (Feat. T-Pain)" is without doubt one of the summer's biggest hip-hop smashes, currently standing at #5 on Billboard's "Hot Rap Tracks" chart, as well as at #7 on the "Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs" tally. The track has also scored last week's most increased plays at Urban radio outlets nationwide, while being the #1 airplay gainer at Urban radio outlets for three consecutive weeks. The ringtone for "Shawty" is ranked at #4 this week, according to Billboard's "Hot RingMasters," selling more than 500,000 ringtones to date. Plies will unveil his second single, "Hypnotized" featuring Akon, in mid-August.

What's more, the "Shawty" companion video has proven an instant sensation, making a top 10 debut on BET's 106 & Park countdown earlier this month, and rising to #4. Next week will see Plies heralding the release of "THE REAL TESTAMENT" with a performance on BET's 106 & Park. Plies will also perform on MTV's TRL the week of August 13th. MTV has named Plies as a "Discover & Download" artist, where "Shawty" is currently in "Big 10" rotation. The video also debuted at #1 on Music Choice last week as the most "demanded" music video.

Online, Plies is blowing up at MySpace, where he is currently ranked as one of the top 15 "Major" artists. His page - located at myspace.com/plies - is among the site's most popular, with assorted tracks logging over 10 million streams thus far.

Plies will be featured in a wide variety of national publications, including the covers of the August issue of Ozone magazine and the September/October issue of Down magazine. In addition, he was recently nominated in three categories at the 2nd Annual Ozone Magazine Awards, part of the upcoming 2007 TJ's DJ's Tastemaker DJ/Music Conference in Miami. "Shawty" was included on the "Best Rap/R&B Collaboration" shortlist, with Plies getting further nods for "Mixtape Monster Award" and "Most Slept-On Artist."

In May, Plies launched "The Real Testament Featured Verse" contest, hosted by the rapper himself on his website, www.pliesworld.com. For nearly a month, contestants were able to register online and submit a verse to Plies' song, "Ain't Slippin'," produced by DJ Nasty. The winner will be revealed August 7th, and his/her name will be featured inside the album, exclusively at Best Buy.

With San Francisco as Ground Zero, Charlie’s wickedly proficient bone-crushing rhymes take aim with nineteen blazing tracks that will make weaker MCs run for cover. Prior to this mission, Charlie was dropping explosive joints on Bay Area compilation albums. But now, Charles Williams aka Charlie Manhattan steps out into the solo spotlight.

Charlie’s home turf of the Bay View Hunters Point sections of San Francisco is the backdrop for Charlie’s rhymes. Charlie says "Gang violence, drugs - pretty much everything has influenced me. I'm a really a down to earth person, I’m not segregating myself off to one section of the city or a region of Cali, or one part of anything..."

Producers on this explosive project are Laid Black Productions, (Mr. Laid and Chill Black), Slo Burn of BAISS Entertainment and L7, a hot new female producer. Featured guests include the bay area’s Pho Balo, R&B Singer Omari Jelani, Calita Talley, and "Lil Brah" (Charlie's younger brother).

The first single is a remake of The Deele’s old school classic, "Two Occasions" which also includes samples of the original.

Charlie has already played a number of live shows. He points out, "I’ve done a lot of competitions with my camp. I remember a show we did with Mac Dre that was huge, about a year and a half ago. It was real shocking when he died. He was part of the Bay Area music scene, contributing for so long. The reaction to his death really showed how important the Bay Area is to people in hip hop. It was far and wide, which meant a lot to us."

Mac Lethal "11:11"
Dropping October 9th, 2007
Pre-Order now!

We're proud to announce the Official Rhymesayers debut from Kansas City's native son Mac Lethal. One of URB's Next 100, Mac Lethal has been making a name for himself for years. Whether it's terrorizing rappers at events like Scribble Jam ('02 MC Battle Champion) or earning his road dog stripes touring with artist like Atmosphere, Sage Francis and P.O.S, Mac Lethal has arrived and he's brought his signature sarcastic observation on life with him.

11:11 is a cynical, drunk, thought provoking and hard hitting album about beer, distaste with religion, kissing girls and most of all Kansas City. More fun that serious, but sometimes serious in a fun way. Be Mac's friend on Myspace today!

To give you a sneak peak of the album we're leaking the track "Rotten Apple Pie", pass it around, and let us know what you think!

Developed by Tupac in 1995, the Outlawz have endured many changes and weathered the roughest storms. The OUTLAWZ are the only group in music history to be featured on over 40 million albums sold worldwide and never put out an album of their own on a major label.

On September 11, 2007 distributed by Koch, West Coast rap label, High Powered Entertainment will make hip hop history with its release; Thug In Thug Out. The highly anticipated project is the first official collaboration by original Outlawz members Young Noble and Hussein Fatal since the much publicized fallout that followed the death of their mentor Tupac Shakur.Pac and Fatal

Thug In Thug Out is an obvious display of unity and the Lawz newest contribution to the game; a compilation of prolific lyrics, G-Code messages and banging tracks to ride, roll & bounce to!

While Shakur's magical influence is ever present, this new album solidifies Young Noble's and Hussein Fatal's brotherhood and hold on the rap game.

The millions who adore Tupac Shakur, loyal Outlawz fans and music lovers from around the globe will consider this reunion LP well worth the wait.

Many people throughout the world hail the late 2PAC as the greatest rapper if not the "Entertainer" of our generation and as with any pop culture icon, 2PAC was imitated by many but never successfully duplicated. However, 2PAC's influence and legacy is apparent and alive in one group that actually spawned from him, through the good and bad times; The OUTLAWZ.

Hailing originally from the New Jersey and New York areas but having traveled and loved all over the country the OUTLAWZ are one of the few rap groups that have attained and maintained the love and respect from every coast and over seas. The OUTLAWZ are perhaps the most slept on by the industry, but in the streets they are considered legends. Compiled of the most talented, respected and underrated crew of emcees to ever bless the microphone.

The OUTLAWZ are not to be taken lightly, having garnered their own loyal fan base from appearances on numerous album's, most notably 2PAC'S Me Against The World (2 platinum), All Eyes On Me (9 platinum), Makaveli (5 platinum), R U Still Down (3 platinum), 2PAC'S Greatest Hits (10 platinum), nobleBetter Days (2 platinum),Until The End Of Time (3 platinum), Still I Rise (1.5 platinum), Gang Related and Gridlock'd Soundtracks (platinum plus).... just to name a few.

Young Noble is currently on tour with G-Unit's Young Buck (Cashville Records/1 Nation Entertainment)

Baby Drew - Free

Bild

Milwaukee-based rapper Baby Drew is gearing up for the release of his third album, "Free," via U Digg Records and OarFin Distribution. The disc features appearances from Pimp C (of UGK), Chamillionaire, Bun B, Mario, Young Stally, and Playboy D, among others. "Hogz In Tha House," a song that shows Baby Drew's dedication to the street, is the record's first single.

With "Free," Baby Drew has made his return, and this time it’s with a vengeance. Though the rapper’s style and intense tone remain the same as that exemplified on his previous releases, he has lyrically reached a whole new level. Calling himself a “street representative,” Drew attributes his new lyrics to living on and watching the street.

As someone with a distinctive voice, Baby Drew hopes to reach a broader, more universal audience with his music. Both his debut and sophomore effort were successful locally, but Drew is now poised for nationwide recognition.

Zitat:
One of the most influential bands of the positive hip-hop movement, Arrested Development is set to release, "Since The Last Time", the band's first album of new material in over 12 years. Arrested Development burst on the scene in 1992 with the Grammy winning album, "3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life Of..."--ultimately selling over 4 million copies. Now with the release of "Since The Last Time", Arrested Development is poised to re-join the ranks of the bands (Black Eyed Peas, The Roots and Common) that they help to inspire. The album features 12 new tracks that Arrested Development leader, Speech, has described as "a mixture of easy going, but lively group of songs meant to stir up belief and thirst."
