Once again I apologize for posting in English. As I said before my German just isn't good enough.
The T.O.N.E-Z "Heisser Scheiss" EP has has been sent to pressing and I thought now would be a good time to provide some more information concerning the EP.

If you haven't heard of who T.O.N.E-Z is yet, to summarize; T.O.N.E-Z is the younger brother of Special K and T La Rock. He was in the group Style, which was signed to Select Records, had a few videos on MTV, etc... Since then he's been doing his thing, working with other Bronx cats (Mo Crazy, Myzery, etc...), putting out mixtapes and so on.

The "Heisser Scheiss" EP will feature 9 tracks and the first people to order will get a bonus DVD. To provide everyone with a taste of what to expect here's the Maw Fiya (Waste Remix) video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwX-2hn9pEQ

We are doing a limited pressing run first, which will exclusively be in our online store. With the second run we will look to stock it in selected online stores. The first run is mainly for promotion and to give our fans a chance to get the CD as soon as possible.

Thx. I have another question: I bought an album from T.O.N.E-Z called "The one no-one expected" at cdbaby.com some months ago. I s he the same Tone-Z that releases the Heisser Scheiß EP?

edit: I just checked the booklet, it is the same Rapper.

Well that doesn't leave me with much to say. Yes, that is the same rapper and you'll notice that it has the original version of Maw Fiya on it as well. I hope you enjoyed it!

Any news on the release date of the "Heisser Scheiss" EP KrAzY3?

Some minutes ago I ordered your EP, the Jason Porter album and the two Bloodshot discs, I hope to get the package real soon. You have to keep us updated about new releases of Ryda Records, the store looks very interesting .

P.S.: By the way, do you know that there is a german song by Bata Illic about a girl with the same first name your wife has (I guess your wife is the paypal-seller?) ? You should play the track for her, it is a love song...

The package is packed and I will ship it tomorrow. I'll get you the customs tracking number and all of that as soon as it goes out. The store is rather modest right now, but thanks to support from people like you it will speed things along in regards to not just bigger future releases (such as Geist's "Anthema Regal which will feature Tech N9ne, one of if not the biggest underground American act) but also will give us a easier outlet to put out limited quantity releases as well.

I will be on the lookout for the song you mentioned, and yes that is my wife's name. Once again, thanks for the support we appreciate it!

By the way, do you sell all the albums you offer on your site at cdbaby.com? Isn't that a good way to promote them and get some recognition?

Well, we have had a album or two on cdbaby and to be honest yes, stores are a important way of selling product and garnering exposure. Unfortunately, at the underground level they are not always that profitable (or in the least aren't losing too much money which is more often the case). The stores take one more chunk out of the money which already isn't much to begin with. So there is some balance that needs to be had to help insure we are both profitable and are getting exposure. It isn't a easy task. For instance, you buying items on the store can and will go directly into future projects. But on the other hand limited something to the store does limit the exposure as well.

I can say Camp Horror is on cdbaby (for 12.97) and with our larger scale releases we will tend to try to use any outlet we can but for something like the first run of "Heisser Scheiss" we are somewhat happy to be able to have something that is a bit more intimate with our fans and it also gives us the freedom of getting market feedback. We might decide to do a large pressing run and to stock them on all the major stores we can, but from feedback we might decide we wanted to change the artwork, or add or remove a track or two, etc... so the one advantage we do have is that we aren't obligated to do things one way or the other, we have flexiblity to go with our limitations.

Let's put it like this: Without cdbaby maybe I would have never heared of you and bought one of your CD's. I think stores - nowadays especially online stores where you can listen to snippets and get some more information about the musicians - are a good way to present yourself to listeners worldwide, so in my opinion it is helpful to sell at least some of your albums there. It is more difficult to get the listeners to visit the Rydas Records website if you do not have links on other webpages that get hits by millions of guests every day. I know that cdbaby takes some dollars of the money you get when they sell a CD, but I think it is a good way to get the recognition from the listeners if you sell some albums over there. So in my opinion you are doing it right, put the best CD to cdbaby to get some listeners to your webstore and than make the money from your website .
