Da Band’s Chopper Signs to Cash Money

It seems the Bad Boy curse will never end – another rapper has left Diddy’s label after feeling slighted by the hip-hop mogul.

Chopper, formerly of Da Band, has left Bad Boy and inked a deal with Baby of Cash Money Records.

“I believe if I’m working with you, you are me,” the New Orleans native told MTV News. “You’re a part of me if we’re getting this together.”

“Puff is a multi-millionaire, I’m a thousand-naire at that time, grinding. I shot the [‘I See You Lil Daddy’] video and the remix with Lil Wayne and Jody Breeze without him even giving me an advance check. I did that thinking it was all love. [Then] Katrina hit, boom, took away my house, took away a lot of stuff from my family.”

“When that happened, I didn’t get no phone call [from Diddy],” Chopper added. “He didn’t call me and say, ‘Are you all right?’ He didn’t say, ‘I got these Sean John clothes and can make sure your family at least has clothes on its back.’ He didn’t do none of that.”

“So at the end of the day, I felt played. That’s why I wanted to disband myself from the Bad Boy situation.”

Meanwhile, Diddy has responded to Chopper’s comments and claims the label did in fact pay for Chopper’s videos.

“[He] is a former disgruntled artist of Bad Boy who obviously has an axe to grind,” Diddy said. “We wish him well in his future career.”

Chopper is now in Miami working on his Cash Money debut, “Fast Life,” which will feature appearances by Lil Wayne, Chingy, and the late Soulja Slim.

B.G. & Baby ''Kiss And Make Up'' Over The Airwaves


Cash Money Records' co-founder Bryan "Baby" Williams and his former artist B.G. recently buried their long going beef publicly on the radio.


The two have been feuding since B.G.'s departure from Cash Money Records in 2001. B.G. has repeatedly accused the Birdman of cheating him out of royalties and they have both gone back and forth on various records...




Baby, who lost his sister Tamara Williams in a car accident last week, called New Orleans radio station Q93 to thank fans for their support and condolences at the same time as B.G. was calling the station to send regards to the Williams family. The two artists were connected and their conversation was aired.


"I just wanted to say I'm sorry despite what you and me been through," said B.G. "I knew Tamara personally, we grew up together, we go back. I just wanted you to know that my heart go out to you and the whole Williams family."


"I can respect that," Birdman replied. "I'll put everything on the side for that."


"I'm not on your side like I used to be, but for something like this to happen, I can still feel like your pain," B.G. continued. "I feel like I'm right there with you."


Jason Williams, the motorist who crashed into Tamara's vehicle while driving in the wrong direction down New Orleans' Causeway Boulevard, still remains in critical condition in Charity Trauma Center. Because of his condition, investigators have not been able to question him. He had no relation to Tamara or Baby.


In related news, B.G. is currently gearing up for the first release off his Chopper City imprint. Titled We Got This, the set will be a compilation album featuring new music from B.G. and his group The Chopper City Boyz, which is comprised of Sniper, VL Mike, Gar and Hakim (aka Hakizzle).


B.G. and The Chopper City Boyz recently shot a video for the compilation's first single, "Make 'Em Mad." The song, which was produced by David Banner, was the third most added track in its first week at radio.


We Got This will hit shelves on February 27 via Chopper City/Koch Records.
