First I have to apologize because my German isn't very good. I lived in Germany for a little while but I'd have to assume most people in here speak far better English than I speak German. Feel free to reply in German though, I'll just ask my wife to translate...

I'd like to say this board looks like a awesome place and it makes me want to brush up on my German. I searched around a little and not only did I see them talking about Style (T.O.N.E-z) but I saw mention of some of our other acts like Bloodshot as well as past acts such as McNastee.

Anyway, since I noticed Kore put up T.O.N.E-z old videos when he was on Select Records and there are some mention of him here. For the record here are the videos:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPLjTew1Hs4 (Assasinator)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiN6ValdUZE (What a Brother Know)

Of course this is years later but here's a much later video T.O.N.E-z did in which he really speaks his mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAVDAG3i0lM (T.O.N.E-Z - "Mannaquines / SOHH)

Anyway, now T.O.N.E-z is on Rydas Records now. We are about to press up a EP featuring Myzery, Geist, Lo Key, Jason Porter and Intrinzik it also features production from PMC and Waste. Here is a video from the upcoming EP:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwX-2hn9pEQ (Maw Fiya Remix)

And finally, here's a free mixtape he put together: http://www.rydasrecords.com/tonezmixtape.zip

Oh yeah, both the Mixtape and EP are called "Heisser Scheiss". My wife suggested the name :D

Welcome to the boards and thx a lot for the video-links :thankyou: . Personally I do not know those artists you mentioned very well, but I know that there are a lot of people here who like to listen to them. Feel free to post more videos , links, websites and more so we all get to know those Rappers better.

By the way, "Heisser Scheiss" is a very good EP and Mixtape-title, your wife must be a very cool person  !

Well, the main thing I can say really is that the official site for Rydas Records (home of Bloodshot, Jason Porter, Geist, Menacide and T.O.N.E-z) is http://www.rydas.com

As far as T.O.N.E-z you might be a bit more familiar with his brothers. T La Rock was the first Def Jam artist and Special K is from the Treacherous Three (they did such revolutionary songs as The Body Rock). Two of the top old school hip-hop artists of all time.

The name... well us Americans are so uptight that you can't really get away with calling a CD "Hot Shit" and besides that's a bit played out. We had to do something that, for a American rapper, is a little more unique. :ugly:

Once again, my apologies for typing in English. I know it is a bit rude but my German would be even more confusing and full of poorly translated things like "peed her away" instead of "pissed her off" and stuff like that. I can handle responses in German though...

It is no problem you type in English, everybody at this board listens to US-Rap, so we are familiar with your language ;) .

Of course I know T La Rock and Special K, I used to listen to them when I was younger. Does any of the upcomig releases feature them?

No, none of them every really worked with each other very much. We talked about it a bit and it is a combination of things really, to be honest probably as much ego as anything. None of the three were ever on the same label, or in the same group together. Which, if you think about it makes their accomplishments even more impressive.

So while nothing has been done, it is a possiblity in the future though, part of that comes down to the level of interest. That's one reason I'm here. With most of the hip-hop community there is only a appreciation for what is current. Even with the horrorcore type fans I've dealt with a lot, they tend to care more about Myzery than they would about someone like T La Rock as absurd as that might be. So one goal I have is to see the level of interest in REAL hip-hop and if it is there it would become that much easier to get them in the studio together.

Just to make sure people know I'm not making it up (I hate the fact but people on the internet make stuff up all the time) here' a (old) New York Times article mentioning the family connection: T La Rock and His New Posse
"Special K and another brother, Tony Tone the Assassinator (Anthony), rallied around him"
Here's another short article on T La Rock that mentions the connection:

Thanks for the interest (and the welcome) and I'll keep everyone here updated. The EP is ready to go to pressing, finalizing the CD art now.

Well, here's the cover we'll be using for the first (limited) pressing. The second pressing will probably have new artwork:

Rydas Records isn't actually regionally based. We are trying for a more global approach (we have a artist in the UK, producers in Austria, Australia and Denmark for instance). That is one advantage that being a small independant label provides, we don't have a set of specific rules to follow. I think it can result in a better and more diverse product. For instance the EP that just went to pressing (first small run), "Heisser Scheiss" features our UK rapper (Geist) and production from our Austrian and Australian producers.

T.O.N.E-z is from and lives in Bronx, NY though...

I noticed that more and more U.S. artists are featuring european Producers on their albums, even the bigger names do so. Do you think you get some new ideas and influences from here?

And please tell us when the EP will be available...

I'll start with the simple question. The EP will be available within a month, I don't want to set a release date because we're rushing to get this out as soon as possible but barring any problem with pressing it will be a matter of weeks. It will be available pretty much as soon as we have the finished product in our hands.

As far as producing goes, to me one of the important factors right now is just that European producers aren't as blinded by what ever style is dominating the American rap scene. So, for instance while Europe brings some creativity to the scene, I think it is serving to help keep rap somewhat grounded and aid in making it more universally appealing. For instance, I noticed when I was in Germany that hip-hop was more like, real hip-hop. While, in American rap was busy getting krunk...
