Of course I know T La Rock and Special K, I used to listen to them when I was younger. Does any of the upcomig releases feature them?
No, none of them every really worked with each other very much. We talked about it a bit and it is a combination of things really, to be honest probably as much ego as anything. None of the three were ever on the same label, or in the same group together. Which, if you think about it makes their accomplishments even more impressive.
So while nothing has been done, it is a possiblity in the future though, part of that comes down to the level of interest. That's one reason I'm here. With most of the hip-hop community there is only a appreciation for what is current. Even with the horrorcore type fans I've dealt with a lot, they tend to care more about Myzery than they would about someone like T La Rock as absurd as that might be. So one goal I have is to see the level of interest in REAL hip-hop and if it is there it would become that much easier to get them in the studio together.
Just to make sure people know I'm not making it up (I hate the fact but people on the internet make stuff up all the time) here' a (old) New York Times article mentioning the family connection:
T La Rock and His New Posse
"Special K and another brother, Tony Tone the Assassinator (Anthony), rallied around him"
Here's another short article on T La Rock that mentions the connection:
