Wo hat er denn die ganzen Promis her? Scheint sich ja ganz schön gemausert zu haben. An seiner musikalischen Unfähigkeit ändert das natürlich nichts. :ugly:

Conducted by professional rap journalist Audio Snyper (MurderDog/Street Masters), this in-depth interview sheds more light than ever on one of Chicago’s long time underground soldiers who has been recently featured on ChiBangin.com’s own “Killaz, Crooks & Come-Ups Pt. 2” compilation.

C.O. THA! BAD BLACK INTERVIEW

How far do your roots go back in the Chicago Rap Scene?

My roots go back 17 years. I arrived in Chicago back in 1989. I met up with Soundmaster T and he was a mentor. He taught me how to count bars and put the hooks every 16 bars. That was before your Twista’s, your Kanye’s and a lot of them cats. I’m not taking nothing away from none of them but I was doing it. Even if it means putting my age out there then so fuckin’ what because I’m the best to do it.

Back in those days did you know what kind or rapper you would become or were you experimental?

My favorite rapper to this day is Big Daddy Kane, because, that is where you hear my metaphors. If you got three rappers that is doing metaphors with them punch lines then I’m in that top three. Then Slick Rick was another rapper that I liked and that is where the telling stories comes from. I tell true stories of my life.

Who was poppin’ in Chicago back in ’89?

When I came to Chi-Town House Music was big as fuck. You had cats like Fast Eddie and Sundance. Fast Eddie was the first rapper from Chicago to make it on Rap City. Even though I didn’t do House Music and I have never done it, it inspired me because I seen him on Rap City and I saw him in Chicago riding around in tight ass whips and shit. I have been doing it for a long ass time.

Where did “Bad Black” come from?

I was C.O.R. which is Creator Of Rap, but I was always Tha! Bad Black. The Bad comes from me defending the honor of my Mother when cats would say them Momma jokes. Still to this day I don’t play Momma jokes. My Mother was shot and died when I was three years old. She had me when she was fifteen and died three years later when she was eighteen. I slit a dudes face with a box cutter, and I broke a crutch over a mutha fucka’z back for them bitch ass momma jokes. At the end of the day aint no mutha fucka badder than me. That’s not no arrogant shit that’s confidence. If you are not the best in your genre then you shouldn’t even be doing it. I know there aint no other rapper on this earth that can spit what I spit because they aint lived what I lived. I’m the best Father when it comes to my Kids, and nobody is fuckin’ wit me when it comes to that microphone man when it comes to spitting that real spit. Check my back ground nigga! I have been there!

What were some of the earliest recordings you did like?

Back then I was just doing stuff shouting out Chi-Town and my home town of Isola, Mississippi. There aint no hoods in my old home town so when I came to Chicago in ’89 I saw what the real hood is about. Here in Chicago niggaz will take off your mutha fuckin’ roof if you wear your hat the wrong way, or mutha fuckaz were getting their Jordan’s snatched off. When I came to Chicago I had Jordans and a Starter Jacket, but I never ran across that. I had the attitude of being peaceful, but if someone got out of line I could turn their head into a convertible and take their whole roof off. I never had a problem in the Chi, I never been whooped in The Chi, or jumped. Mutha fuckaz know! You don’t even have to speak because a mutha fucka know a real mutha fucka! I got my honor off of that alone.

So you adapted well?

Yeah and then I met my nigga JD Walker. I met him in 1992 and he was my mentor in the drug game. I was an honest worker making my money trying to take care of me and my lady at the time and I had my Daughter and then my job fired me over some bull shit. JD stepped to me and said “I know you probably aint wit it but if you want to get some easy money then let’s do it.” That nigga taught me how to bag up, and chop up and cook up the shit. Soundmaster T was my mentor in the music and JD was my mentor in the drug game and both them mutha fuckin niggaz are legends and I don’t give a fuck what nobody says. JD Walker is the Don of Chicago and that nigga don’t get enough props the way that he should. That nigga put it down and JD put the “I” in independent when it came to this music. That nigga should have been had a deal! JD Walker is one of the greatest, and that is my nigga for life.

How did you meet JD?

I met JD Thru P-Child.

When did you meet P-Child?

I met P-Child rappin on the block in his hood back in ’92 when that dude was a little youngster. He was just a kid and I put him under my wing. I’m the first mutha fucka to put him in a studio. I took him to the studio and P-Child saw everything and his eyes were huge. He was mesmerized. I put him in the game. I did for him what “T” did for me and that is how to count bars and do the hook because he was just rappin’ for thirty minutes with no hook.

This was way before he was with C.O.G.right?

Yeah he was by himself back then. He is one of the rawest mutha fuckaz doing it in this rap game. He is getting his pimp on now, what up P-Killa! P-Child was a young nigga, but he was spitting that real shit because he grew up around that. He was already plugged at the age of twelve walking around with pistols and shit. That’s my nigga for ever!

When did you meet Arch Bishop Don Magic Juan?

I met him thru his niece around 1994. He heard a song at this barbeque and he said “Who is that rappin?” He wanted to meet me and at that time he was starting up Be Magic Juan Records. We met and he saw how peaceful I was and I have been knowing him ever since. He always instilled that value in me to be the best that I could be and anything he could do to help me out he would do it. A lot of these rappers are yelling out “Preach, and Tabbernackle”, but none of these niggaz aint never met him or know his name. I have been in his Rolls Royce, I have been to the man’s house and I broke bread with him. I got his house number and cell number and can call him at any time. If mutha fuckaz wanna try to throw a name in there to get a little publicity then go ahead, but I know ya’ll aint never met the mutha fucka! All these fake ass niggaz dick ridin’!

Was he pimpin at the time?

He was done with that. He was a mentor. You can check his book because he knew Mr.T, Oprah, and all of them. He was a motivational speaker to some people who needed some guidance.

What did you do on his record?

Before I got locked up around 95-96 Baby Face and his wife who did Soul Food wanted to do a movie based on Bishop’s life. They were going to take the book “Pimp Stick To Pull Pit” and turn it into a movie. I was the one who did the song for the sound track. 50 had “P-I-M-P” in 2003, but I did “P-I-M-P” in 1995-96 and it stood for “Players Into Making Paper.” The movie never got made, but he still put out the music. At the time I couldn’t promote because that was when I had got locked up.

What did you get locked up for?

I got popped with a half key and a glock.

Were you in the city when you got jammed up?

No actually I was in Maywood on, I think 1st and Lake Street when I caught the case.

How did you get popped?

What happened was we were going to do this lick and stick this nigga for his whole thang not knowing that the mutha fucka that was down with us was a snitch. This bitch made mutha fucka was too scared to take a beaten during interrogation and he gave us up. He told the cops everything. That snitch is probably in protective custody somewhere. That is where I got the idea from for the song “Snitchezzz” on the Murder Dog Compilation Best Of The Best which featured T.I., Bone, E.C.Illa, Traxster, Do Or Die, David Banner and others.

How much time did you get for the case?

They came at me with 45 years because it was a Super Class X Felony. Any mutha fucka from Chicago knows what that is. If you get caught with a gun and the drugs then that is armed violence and that starts at 9-45 and they came at me with the maximum. I told them to eat a crooked ass dick. Then they came back with eight years and I told them to eat a fat rabbit dick. Finally they came at me with four years and I copped out and they broke it down. I had to do half of the four so I did two years in the joint and two years on paper. They kept me down state in Illinois.

Did you do a lot of writing when you were locked up?

I did so much writing and reading man. I came home after that and a mutha fucka was right. I want to say to everyone reading this that I’m thru with that game man. January 28th, 2008 will be ten years that I have been at the crib. I’m glad of that shit. Fuck that shit! Like a real nigga will tell you this is from the heart.

What would you say to the youngsters in the Chi that were born into this life thinking of slangin?

I cant tell them not to make money. If you feel you have to go into the drug game to make money then go and do it, but I will tell you this and that is one day you will get caught. There is so much shit that the Feds got right now you wont get away with it for long. I’m not gonna tell young cats don’t do it because I didn’t want anyone telling me how to make my money, but all I’m saying is if you do go for that then be careful. Also remember the mutha fucka that you are passing packs to aint your friend because once they get you in the interrogation room cats will turn.

The rap game is just as shady. What kind of snakes have you ran into in the rap game?

I have run into so many bitch ass niggaz. At least with a snake you know it is bound to bite you. In this game mutha fuckaz want you to put your career on hold to help them out but fuck that I have been doing it as long as you. Also cats get on and they forget about their guys. I aint that type of person. I know who helped me and I know who didn’t help me. Once I do sign the deal and get that nice ass advance if the nigga who didn’t help me comes around I’m gonna bust his head. If you aint fuckin’ with me now that I don’t got it then don’t fuck with me when I get it. You can ask the President of my Label Themolishun Enterpryze who I call President Bejda. That mutha fucka has been with me from day one. If he calls me and needs some help with a mutha fucka I’m taking their roof off no questions asked. I don’t care what color he is because I know President Bejda has stood up for me all of these years and broke his back for me and really didn’t have to. Also I got cats working for me like Quick from St. Louis who now stays in Cali who has FHB Studios. Not to bring color into it, but both of them cats is white, but they showed a mutha fucka so much fuckin’ love that they don’t even look at a color and either do I. It is just that a mutha fucka who is the same color as me “A black nigga” who I have been doing it with for years won’t even pull me in if they get a chance.

Who were some of the cats you worked with in Chicago?

Lil’ Chilla, P-Child, Soundmaster T, JD Walker, Quarta Ounce, and really I was the type to do shit with people in my circle. I wanted to fuck with the underground cats, but I got respect for mutha fuckaz that got respect for me. Also I just want to say “Free Belo.” Belo is one of the realest mutha fuckaz. My song Snitchezzz wanted to do a re-mix to that. Much love to Belo. He is a humble brother! Back in 1995 along with Delle Del I was the first rapper to put out a song shouting out all the Chicago rappers. That song was “Comin’ Right At Ya.” That song was on the 1995 Black Mob album called “Street Hitz Funk.” Only a few came up to me and told me they heard the song and appreciated it. Common came up to me and thanked me. That’s another peaceful brother right there. I also worked with D.A. Smart too. Also Pink House(R.I.P) used to spin the hell out of “Comin’ Right At Ya.”

Tell me about your relationship with the late great Pink House?

I put this on the life of my five Daughters, I was so close with Pink House I used to travel from The West Side to the South Side and pick him up and take him to work. I would walk into his crib on the South side and he had Gold and Platinum Records from Outkast, Scarface and everyone. Everyone loved that man! I met him thru Delle Del.

Weren’t you in “When Thugs Cry” the movie?

Me, Mony Karlo, Sound Master-T, and Jah Rista did that film. Let it be known I’m looking for the Director of the movie who is this cat named Paris because the nigga never paid us. Other than that the movie was fun. I performed my single “Everythang” at the Cotton Club before they had closed it down too. That’s the thing, a lot of people don’t know my face but they know my music. The movie I heard did good in Germany and Japan as well as here in the States. That was my first acting gig.

Tell 'em about your newest single?

It is called “G.L.U.E.E. Pussy” and my man Delle is pushing that right now. This shit is for the strip clubs. Don’t let that fool you because we got some street shit too.

Tell me about the mixtape you got coming out?

I actually call it a “Mix-Album” and it is called “Tha! Sultan Of This Rap Shit Vol. 315.” It is like a mixtape mixed with an album. I want to say about 80% of the songs on the album are actual songs. It is gonna kill people! It will be out in January of ’08. Sultan means, King or Ruler because that’s what I am on this rap shit. Rap stands for Real Ass Problems. Aint no mutha fucka got more problems than me, at least not to my concern and my knowledge.

Tell me about the song “I’ll Die 4 My Daughters?”

It really speaks for itself. No rapper has ever put together something that strong because a lot of rappers never rep for their kids. I got five beautiful girls and I got two baby mamas. I got four with one, and one with the other one. If two of my daughters needed kidneys right now and I am the perfect match, then I’m a dead mutha fucka. If my daughters needed a heart transplant and I was a perfect match, then I’m a dead mutha fucka. I only have two kidneys, one heart, and one liver, but if either one of them need that then I’m a dead mutha fucka. That’s my right hand to God Allah! Any nigga wanna step up and say this nigga is on some bull shit then watch. I don’t want none of my daughters to get sick like that, but if they do and I am dead. Fuck this rap shit! When it comes to my daughters I will turn a mutha fuckaz head into a convertible if they hurt my daughters. That’s the reason why I’m moving back from Atlanta to the Chi. I can’t be that far away from them. There are a lot of dead beat dad’s out there, but I aint one. Then there are women who won’t let the father see the kids. To the women who are reading this and do that, then that is fucked up. If you got a man and he is trying to see his kids and you won’t let him, then you are a bitch. The mother of my four daughters is a bitch. I bought my oldest daughter a $400 scooter and when I moved to Atlanta the mother who is a bitch sold it. She sold my daughter’s scooter. This is real shit! Fuck that, this is from the heart my nigga! When I spit this in the song “I’ll Die For My Daughters” this is from the heart. I sent my daughter some money and the bitch will keep half of it. Then she moves my kids into the suburbs of Chicago and she had the nerve to move next door to a rapist. As Allah as my witness, if that mutha fuckin nigga hurt my kids then I’m killing every mutha fucka over there. I might be incriminating myself right now, but I don’t give a fat frogs green ass. If something happens to my daughters I’m killing every mutha fucka over there! I don’t hit women. I respect women. My mother caught a bullet in the chest at the age of eighteen. She had me when she was fifteen and she was dead at eighteen. I know the value of a woman, but with Allah as my witness, to the mother of the my four daughters, I hope you are reading this and if something happens to my girls bitch I’m breaking your jaw in twenty mutha fuckin places. That is why that is the best rap song ever because I got so charged. Go right now to www.myspace.com/cothabadblack and listen to it. When it comes to shit from the heart I AM THE BEST! In my songs you hear about my mother getting killed, my daughters, me doing time in the pen, and aint no mutha fucka telling it the way I tell it. I forgot the name of the basketball player, but he went to prison and he never got NBA success because of the street life that he chose, but he was the greatest. He could jump over cars and slam dunk and shit. He was that mutha fuckin tight! He is the greatest basketball player to ever play with out getting an NBA title and I’m the greatest rapper to ever do a flow with out getting a mutha fuckin’ contract. What ever happens, happens! In the song “I’ll Die 4 My Daughters” I put every single label that we shopped at. Watch when those labels hear that song. Watch each and every single one of them come at me with a contract!

What does 315 mean?

C is the third letter of the alphabet and O is the fifteenth letter. When ever you hear 315 I’m basically hollering C.O.

On your last mixtape you did a song called “Put Yo Block In Motion” which was a song about all the Chi-Town gangs and sets. To me it was just as informative as D.A.’s Walk Wit Me! How did you put that together?

I come from The Chi and hanging with JD Walker, so you know them cats is VL’s. I was down with them niggaz and is still down with them, but I never officially joined. When I got locked up I saw other brothers like Black Stones, GD’s, SD’s, and Latin Kings. I was always peaceful with everybody in the joint man, but I was always connected to the fin ball. I got love for everybody, but with me being a Muslim, the fin ball’s study came from the Koran. Them Brothers was always peaceful with me. My Teacher is Allah! I got love for everybody and I wanted to put something together to show what Chi-town is all about and I did good. Cats were calling me thanking me for that. That was one of the hardest songs on that mixtape.

Are you in The Chi right now?

Right now I’m in the Chi, but in 2006 I went down to Atlanta to clear my head. I got a crib down there and one here too. I just wanted to make some moves down south but I aint left the City.

Do you have an album coming out?

It is called “P.A.I.N.” and it stands for Pushin’ Anthing If Necessary. It will come out in the third Quarter of ’08. I feel in my hear that “Pain” is the most prolific album ever to come out in the last twenty years man. When they hear “Pain” they will see what I have been thru and what I’m going thru. It’s my testimony!

Is there anything else?

Go to myspace.com/cothabadblack & myspace.com/sultanofrap I want to shout out ChiBangin.com for being the realest site on the net. It is an honor for websites like yours to give an underground artist like myself a platform. I want to shout out E.C. Illa because that brotha has been doing it for a long time too. Also Traxster, JD Walker, my label Themolishun Enterpryze, President Bejda, Mony Karlo, my boy Big-C, Deez Up Clothing in Germany, Belo and Do Or Die, Quarta Ounce and everybody. Rest in peace to my Mother and thank god Allah for my life and definitely my five Daughters. Also I want to thank TKO, he is the first artist signed to Themolishun Enterpryze, Hennessey, his album down with Themolishun thru Ride Or Die and Quick my boy from St. Louis.
