Zitat:
"McDonald’s has evolved and become a lifestyle brand. Since it now is relevant to our lifestyle, let’s go one step further and make its employees relevant to our lifestyle as well."

Nearly two weeks after being sentenced for perjury, Lil Kim filed a lawsuit in Manhattan's U.S. District Court Monday (July 18) against Junior M.A.F.I.A. member Lil Cease for intending to release a tell-all DVD about the trial.

Seeking $6 million in damages, Kim, born Kimberly Jones, accused Cease of illicitly using her name and likeness to endorse the upcoming DVD, "The Chronicles of Junior M.A.F.I.A. Part II: Reloaded."

Cease, whose real name is James Lloyd, served as a trial witness during Kim's perjury case, helping to corroborate her false statements about her association with two men involved in a 2001 shootout outside New York radio station Hot 97.

In the lawsuit, Kim stated that she split from Junior M.A.F.I.A. in 2001 due to personal and business conflicts.

The Brooklyn rapper also said that Cease has publicly detailed the contents of the DVD, which is expected to include testimony from him and other Junior M.A.F.I.A. members concerning the trial.

Last month Cease told AllHipHop.com, "We're giving it to y'all real raw, real uncensored….I went and got all the evidence, all the paperwork to show what really happened."

But according to Kim, the upcoming DVD and its preceding edition should be classified as unauthorized false advertising.

Also listed as a defendant in Kim's lawsuit is Ground Zero Entertainment, the Los Angeles-based company that produced the DVD.

On July 6, Kim was sentenced to a year and a day in prison for lying to a grand jury. She is required to surrender to authorities on September 19.

A lot of MCs decide they want to go pro in the rap game during a moment of blinding, burning urgency. It's the desire to get known now, to get what's yours and maybe even take a bit of someone else's. And when it strikes, you've got to get up and get going.

Unless you're Saigon. When inspiration struck him, he really couldn't get up or go anywhere. Because he was in prison for shooting a kid at a party.

It was the third time he'd been locked up for a shooting-related incident (when he was in eighth grade, he shot a guy who'd been spending time with his then-girlfriend, and about a year and a half later he shot two men outside a nightclub). He freely admits he was already heading down the path to self-ruination, until that one fateful night, in his jail cell, when inspiration struck. . "I was 16 years old, locked up with all these dudes who were urban legends in the 'hood. You get to meet these dudes and I'd be like, 'Damn your name rings so many bells in the 'hood,' " Saigon says. "But these dudes were like, 'Man, you think I care about that? I wanna go home.' This is what really changed my life, when I got around these dudes who I was trying to be like and they was like, 'Man, if I could do it all again I don't think I could care about a reputation.' "

It was then that Saigon — real name Brian Carenard — decided to make rapping his life. He'd been involved in breaking and DJing since he was 9, and got into the lyrical side of things a few years later. But it had never been more than a hobby; now he decided to make it his life. So he took the stage "professionally" for the first time during a prison talent show.

"There's these dudes onstage rapping, and they was good — real good — and I'm in the crowd and I say, 'These dudes is a'ight,' " Saigon laughs. "So somebody heard me and the say, 'Oh, you think you're better? ... Then get up here.' So I'm sitting there thinking of rhymes in my head and I'm like, 'What can I say? This is a prisoner crowd.'

"So there's this one song that I used to do, it ain't even a real song, it was called 'F Police.' So I'm like, 'Hmm, that's what I could do. That always got the party crunk,' " he continues. "So the curtains open and I'm like, 'Yeah, yeah, check it out to all my peoples in the house, let me hear you say "F police." ' It was pandemonium, dudes was jumpin' on their chairs and then I just see the curtains close. I'm like, 'What happened?' The next thing I know, police rushed me, strip searched me, threw me in a box, threw me in the hole. And I'm like, 'What did I do? I'm performing at a talent show.' "

Things weren't going much better for Saigon after he got out of prison. He'd made the rounds on the mixtape circuit and made plenty of fans with his street-weary, conscious rap. But he was having a hard time making it to the big leagues until a couple of chance meetings with a pair of producers: celebrity DJ Mark Ronson who started working on tracks with Saigon, and then with über-hitmaker Just Blaze, who took him under his wing.

Working with Blaze, he's already made a couple of classic cuts, including the linguistically charged "Letter P" and "Color Purple," which calls for an end to the Bloods/Crips gang feud. And with a long-awaited proper debut, Greatest Story Never Told, due later this year, Saigon is poised to truly make it huge.

But record sales are just numbers. And after doing hard time on (and off) the streets, Saigon would prefer to be known as a whole lot more than just the rap game's finest.

"I want to be known as somebody who was born in the '70s, saw the problems on the streets in the '80s, got caught up in those problems in the '90s, and in the 2000s, he started to make a solution to that problem," he says. "If there's problems out there, I'm gonna try to solve them all."

Rapper Gucci Mane has been arrested in Miami on an Atlanta assault warrant, his lawyer said Wednesday...

Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, was arrested Friday by Miami authorities on the outstanding police warrant, said lawyer Dennis Scheib. Mane was expected to be sent to Atlanta later this week.

The aggravated assault warrant stems from an altercation earlier this month involving a promoter and people at Mane's record label, Big Cat Records. The promoter was injured and later filed a complaint with police.

Scheib said Mane wasn't involved in the fight.

The lawyer said Mane would have turned himself over to authorities if he and his client had been notified of the warrant.

Mane released his debut album, "Trap House," in May. On the day of the album's release, the 25-year-old rapper posted a $100,000 bond on a murder charge in the May 10 shooting death of Henry Clark.

In that incident, five men entered a DeKalb condominium where Mane was visiting and exchanged gunfire with Mane before the men escaped. It is believed Clark was one of the five men who confronted Mane, Scheib said.

Scheib said that case has been put on hold until October, pending a new investigation by authorities.

As Tab “Turk “ Virgil awaits trial for attempted murder for his alleged involvement in a shooting that left a police officer wounded in Memphis Tennessee, an attorney for the rapper spoke with AllHipHop.com, stating the Virgil may be free in as little as three weeks.

Javier Bailey is one of the attorneys representing Virgil, who is currently incarcerated for allegedly shooting a SWAT team member during a raid on an apartment in which he and a man named Sean Jackson were visiting.

Federal agents arrested Virgil on one charge of attempted murder in January 2004.

Members of the Memphis SWAT team raided an apartment where Virgil had been residing while recording his third solo album, Penitentiary Chances.

Police have stated they were executing a search warrant seeking drugs and assault weapons. A small amount of drugs were uncovered, but no assault weapons were found, according to reports.

"It is my assumption that when they went to the apartment, knowing that he was a rapper, so they approached with the intentions of shooting because they thought there was going to be violence." Bailey told AllHipHop.com. "That's the only reasonable explanation because they used a [tear] bomb upon entrance which controlled everyone in the house. But they still went in firing."

Virgil has maintained his innocence and told investigators he was hiding in a closet when police raided the apartment. The New Orleans based rapper also claimed that cops failed to identify themselves and began shooting while he was in the closet.

Memphis' Shelby County detectives allege that Turk shot at deputies during the drug raid. It was later concluded that another officer was injured after being shot by a fellow SWAT team member in a friendly fire incident, but Virgil was charged with seriously wounding another officer who was shot during the raid.

According to Bailey, Virgil may be looking at the conclusion of his federal trial in less than 3 weeks.

Bailey revealed that recent ballistic evidence that linked the former Cash Money rapper to the shooting has been returned as inconclusive, raising doubt that the rapper fired a weapon.

Last week, a judge gave prosecutors a new trial date of August 1 as they attempted to locate Jackson, whose absence could prove to be a critical blow to the prosecutions case.

Bailey also said there is now an unidentified eye witness who was hiding under a bed in the next room that the defense may call to testify on behalf of Virgil. The witness also had the same gun residue that is described in the crime report on his hands as Turk did.

Bailey remained confident that a jury would view the evidence in favor of Virgil and that the charges would eventually be dismissed.

“I am confident that the entire case will end up being thrown out both on the federal side and state because the evidence just doesn't back up their claims.”

Virgil was a member of The Hot Boys, one of Cash Money Records' most popular groups that also featured Juvenile, Lil' Wayne and B.G.

Warren G has been heating up the airwaves lately. After dropping the street single "Guerilla Pimpin'" with Aftermaths newest signee Bishop Lamont, the G-Child now hooked up with B-Real of Cypress Hill for his newest radio song "Get You Down", which just hit the radio stations.

Warren is getting ready to drop his newest solo album "In The Mid-Nite Hour" in September, and is set to drop a mixtape before the album, called "This Is For My DJ's", sometime this summer. Hopefully the dates stick and we don't see the record getting pushed back.
