Offwhyte - Mainstay
Bild

Producers: Mike Gao; Kip Killagain; Maker; Meaty Ogre; Sean Julian
Label: Galapagos4 Records
Release Date: 11/13/2007

Zitat:
On his third studio album, Offwhyte offers a soundscape filled with charismatic philosophies and cogent imagery. "Mainstay" provides a magnificent listening experience for the vibe-driven style enthusiast and lyrical junkie alike. Boasting a beautifully eclectic range of songs and sounds, the album is a breath of fresh air in this era of identity crisis and unwarranted braggadocio. Since its inception in 1999, Offwhyte has been a mainstay of the Galapagos4 empire. A co-founder of the label, Offwhyte set things in motion with Galapagos4's first full-length release, "Squints by Offwhyte". Since then, he has played a major part in the label's operations - both behind the scenes and behind the mic, releasing "The Fifth Sun" LP in 2002 and the controversial "Bow To The Sceptor" EP in 2004. Throughout it all, Offwhyte has been a mainstay of underground originality and sly wordplay. With this new release he personifies this notion. The artist has tapped into a new grittier sound with tracks like "GWARN!" and "Whimsical", while never compromising his mellower soul ballads like "The Metropolitan People". The album also packs plenty of surprises, including a few tracks with subtle reggae influences, and a storytelling track about his grandfather, "Wise Conscience". A highly-anticipated album, "Mainstay" finally emerges on November 13, 2007. With 15 tracks and almost an hour of music, the project flaunts a fluidity that transforms a collection of great songs into a monumental album.

Tracklist:

1. Mainstay (Rain Or Shine)
2. Bargain For Fame
3. Someday feat. Lord 360
4. Whimsical
5. GWARN!
6. Mental List
7. The Metropolitan People
8. Promise
9. Bust
10. Front Porch Blues
11. Idle Hands
12. Solid State feat. Mestizo
13. Letter From Last Night
14. Next Time Around
15. Wise Conscience

There's The Link for the Okayplayer Review:
http://www.okayplayer.com/reviews/index ... lty_shots/

Death Penalty Shots is an EP collection of artistic and conceptual, yet fierce and witty battle raps recited over standard to experimental instrumentals. The record only features one vocal guest appearance by Chicago’s Elevation of Fordafresh Records, allowing the verbal mastery and pioneering of Gilead7 to shine unhindered. Production was handled by the genius musicianship of Switzerland’s Ruedi Snare, the soulful sharpness of Chicago’s Sean the Pawn, the avant garde bleakness of Iceland’s Beatmakintroopa, and the evil, Celtic-esque, and mystically dark signature sounds of Gilead7. The release is now worldwide. Partake and be changed.

Zitat:
Thanx for hittin me up man...

Nothin to report at the moment. "DSV1" shoulda been out years ago, but I still intend to release it as maybe a mixtape or download.

I'm an independent, workin-class artist... I'm not even really doin music alot right now, mostly just workin' & goin' to school.

But I promise to everybody who's checkin for me, "DSV1" will be released and there will be a "DSV2"! I gotta get some things in order first.

Thanx again... people like you keep me inspired

Zitat:
Molemen Inc is proud to announce the addition of two new MCs to the crew. Decay and Astonish have begun laying the groundwork for what looks to be a very busy schedule next year. Both newcomers have already worked alongside current Molemen MC Scheme on "The Biz" mixtape in 2007.

Decay has already gained notoriety as part of the Green Llama crew (which include Selfish, Fluent, etc). Previously, he's dropped a self released solo project & a group outing with producer Fluent as City Slick. He is currently in the works ..ing his new album produced by the Molemen and slated for release in 2008.

Astonish is part of the RNA crew, and has already began a buzz about his upcoming EP that will introduce him to a bigger audience. He will also prep a mixtape to accompany the EP release and begin work on a full length album for a 2008 release. Astonish is geared for a "rookie of the year" impression on all hip hop fans.

Nein, scheinen mir auch wirklich nur lokal auffällig gewordene MC's zu sein. Kenne mich da in dem Umfeld aber auch wirklich zu wenig aus...
