Not literally but to star in his upcoming film Revolver. Gut Ritchie has who has directed movies such as Layer Cake, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrel's & Snatch has enlisted such stars as Jason Statham, Ray Liotta, Vincent astore, & Andre Benjamin of the rap group Outkast to star in his upcoming movie entitled Revolver. Below is a synopsis of what the film is about.

Jake Green (Jason Statham: Transporter, Italian Job) is a hotshot gambler, long on audacity and short on common sense. He's rarely allowed to play in any casino because he is a winner. Jake has taken in so much money over the years, he is the only client of his accountant and older brother Billy. One night, Jake, Billy and their other brother Joe are invited to sit in on a private game, where Jake is expected to lose to Dorothy Macha (Ray Liotta), a crime boss and local casino owner who can't play for squat, but always wins because people are too scared to beat him. Jake isn't afraid of Macha, and not only beats Dorothy in a quick game of chance, but takes every possible opportunity to insult the man. Jake and his brothers leave the game, and Macha puts out the order for a hit on Jake, who ends up working for and being protected by a pair of brothers, Avi (Andre Benjamin) and Zack (Vincent Pasatore: Sopranos), who are out to take Macha down.

Andre Benjamin is also working hard on the next Outkast album and has even been listed to appear on the upcoming Madonna album which is set to hit stores in 2006. Andre is also slated to appear in three more films one of which is an adaptation of Charolette's Web, a movie entitled "My Life In Idlewild" which will costar his partner in crime Big Boi, and a yet untitled romantic drama in which he plays a musician who is blamed for his girlfriends death.

In related outkast news look for Big Boi to release Purple Ribbion All Stars this fall.

When you're half of the most successful rap duo of all time, you can get pretty much anything you want.

So, for example, if you were Big Boi and you wanted to announce that a new Outkast album would be hitting stores on, say, December 6, well, then it's a pretty safe bet that it'll come out on December 6.

Hypothetically speaking, of course.

"Me and Dre got the new Outkast album coming out December 6. It's called Idlewild, and the first single is called 'Idlewild Blues,' " Boi said. "I'm dead serious, we're cocked and loaded. The movie's done too. And it's crazy."

OK then. Idlewild — the soundtrack to the long-delayed film of the same name, which still has no release date — will be out December 6, Outkast's label, LaFace Records, confirmed. In past interviews, Big Boi had hinted that the new 'Kast album would be seeing the light of day sometime this year, but until now there was no set-in-stone release date (see "Big Boi Busts Out New Label, Divulges Details About Outkast Film").

But not everything Big Boi says comes true. He told MTV News that "Idlewild Blues" would be available for digital download sometime this month, but according to LaFace, the first single off the album has yet to be determined, and thus nothing has been released digitally.

While the "Idlewild" film had previously been described at the duo's attempt to emulate Prince's big-screen success (see "Outkast's Manager Says Movie, LP Will Be Their 'Purple Rain' "), Big Boi said there's little of the Purple One's velveteen touch in the film — but there is a whole lot of Giorgio Armani.

"The movie is dope," he said. "It's like an Outkast album but on film, which will make the fans happy. It's like two stories going at the same time. I've seen two rough cuts, and it's outstanding. We've got Ving Rhames, Ben Vereen, Cicely Tyson, Terrence Howard, Patti LaBelle. We would show up every day suited and booted thanks to Mr. Giorgio Armani. Tailor-made to fit."

He's also got one final word on yet another Outkast-related project: Big Boi Presents Got Purp? Volume 2, the first release on his new Purple Ribbon label. The album, due November 22 showcases a group of artists Big is dubbing his "Purple Ribbon All-Stars," including Sleepy Brown, Bubba Sparxxx and Killer Mike. The disc's first single, which he said was called "Kryptonite," is already hitting radio — only it's not called "Kryptonite" anymore (guess Big Boi doesn't always get everything he wants).

"The first single is called 'I'm on It.' It was originally called 'Kryptonite,' " he laughed. "But for some reason, MTV wouldn't let us say it, so we had to change it. What can you do, y'know?"

— James Montgomery

Not too long ago, Outkast's Big Boi was working fans into a tizzy with talk of a December release for Idlewild, the soundtrack to the ATL duo's upcoming film and the first album of new 'Kast music in more than two years...

And while we still stick by our assertion that whatever Big Boi wants, Big Boi gets (see "Outkast Finally Ready To Drop Their New LP, Big Boi Says"), perhaps he was getting a bit carried away with things. Because according to Outkast's label, LaFace Records, the earliest Idlewild will be seeing the light of day is now February.

But it's not like that's too surprising, considering that when MTV News caught up with Boi earlier this month at the Vibe Awards he told us that the album wasn't even finished yet.

"We're about 75, 80 percent done with it. We're putting the finishing touches on it. Dre's in Atlanta right now working on it," he laughed. "There's like three potential singles right now, and we're trying to choose which one we're going to go with. When it comes out, you know it's going to be Outkast."

According to Boi, the album features 14 tracks, including "The Train" and "Idlewild Blues," and it'll be relatively free of cameos, with just frequent Outkast collaborator Sleepy Brown and Janelle Monae (whom Boi just signed to his Purple Ribbon label) making appearances. He also said that the album mirrors the jazz-era leanings of the "Idlewild" film, still due sometime next year.

"It matches the movie. The movie's set in the 1930s, so there's a lot of piano playing, a lot of ragtime, Cab Calloway, Jelly Roll [Morton]. A lot of different stuff on the album," he said. "It's a very mature album, it's rapping and everything else. You've got to expect what you always expect from Outkast, and that's the unexpected."
