Houston’s newest independent record label, 7303 Records, is the brainchild of innovative entrepreneur Ronnie Bookman. However, unlike other independent record labels, 7303 Records is receiving help from some of the music industry’s most recent chart toppers.
Ronnie has been a fixture in the music industry for over 20 years and the owner of legendary Studio 7303 for the past 5 years. To many, Ronnie’s transition in the music industry as the CEO of an independent record label was inevitable. Before building Studio 7303, located in Houston, Texas, Ronnie operated a successful studio at his home, building his clientele by helping such artists as Lil Flip, The Cash Money Millionaires, and Scarface before they became international superstars. Establishing these relationships early in his career has proven to be a major ingredient in Bookman’s recipe for success for not only his studio, but now his record label.
7303 Records is beginning their journey into the history books with the release of its first artist JV and his debut project Rap or Die which features the smash single Walk Like a Hustla, setting the bar high for any acts to follow. With a scheduled release date of March 13, 2007 Rap or Die boasts features from the top echelon of the music industry including music icon Scarface, Bun B, Mike Jones, Ollie Woodson (of the Temptations) and production from super producers Mannie Fresh, Greg Curtis, KLC of Beats by the Pound and Marq Moody. This highly anticipated project is already creating a buzz within the music industry, garnishing attention from various major record label executives and artists. Rap legend Scarface believes that the album will be “groundbreaking,” as it is something totally different than anything else out there right now. “JV is what the rap game has been missing; both his sound and his style are unique, like nothing anyone has ever heard before,” Ronnie states. Ronnie Bookman and 7303 Records are looking to make a huge impact on the music industry, one record at a time. “7303 Records’ primary goal is to make good music that will stand the test of time,” Bookman explains.
