GNN's new book "True Lies" will be released in stores
everywhere on September 28, 2004. In "True Lies," the
writers at GNN don't offer up another cranky complaint about
media and politics. They hit the road, investigating some of
the biggest stories the corporate media is ignoring. "True
Lies" traces the author's travels around the globe, from the
frontlines in Iraq to small town America. Along the way,
you'll meet heroes and geniuses, the paranoid and the plain
perplexed about what's happening in the real America behind
the headlines.

From the poisoning of our own soldiers, to the turning over
of our democratic process to shady corporations, to the
unanswered questions of 9/11, the authors examine what has
become a cultural phenomenon of mass denial. As an Oxford
historian explains to them, "Life is lubricated by lies."
This may be the tagline for our times...

For this and other choice titles, please visit our
“Suggested Reading” section on www.guerrillafunk.com.
Offered in affiliation with Barnes & Noble.com, we showcase
literary picks we believe to be relevant to all who seek
enlightenment on a variety of subjects. Featuring material
by GNN, J.E. Gordon, Adisa Banjoko, Davey D, Rickey Vincent,
Greg Palast, Barry Glassner, Bakari Kitwana, Eric Schlosser
and a host of others. Check us out

PARIS, Kam, Da Lench Mob, Mc Ren, Public enemy

The Return Of Truth In Hip-Hop! Thanks for all of your support!

We’re back! Yes, it’s been a minute since you last heard from us, but that’s only because we’ve been cooking up new heat for 2006 and strengthening our web presence and global distribution - not because Paris is dead or incarcerated (contrary to some rumors). In fact, the entire Guerrilla Funk family is alive and well, so thanks for your concern if you wrote in or called.

***
Starting early next year we’ll have new releases from Public Enemy and Paris, dead prez’s Sticman, Kam, T-K.A.S.H., The Conscious Daughters and The Hard Truth Soldiers compilation series, among others. For more information on current and upcoming releases please visit here.

And while on the topic of new material, many of you have had questions as to why the Rebirth Of A Nation album by Public Enemy was delayed. Well, just to put rumors to rest, it was delayed to make way for Public Enemy’s current self-produced project New Whirl Odor (in stores now). Look for Rebirth Of A Nation, (produced by Paris) early next year.

You can catch music from T-K.A.S.H. and Paris on the forthcoming album Redemption: Hip-Hop United To Save Stan ‘Tookie’ Williams.

This project is an informative instrument designed to bring attention to the struggle to save Stan’s life. For those of you who don’t know, Stan co-founded the Crips youth gang as a teenager, but has found redemption over the past 23 years while incarcerated on San Quentin’s death row. He has been marked to be executed by the State of California December 13, 2005. WE CAN NOT LET THIS HAPPEN! For more information on Stan’s situation visit Tookie.com or Savetookie.org.

Various other hip-hop artists and celebrities have pledged solidarity and their respective talents to this effort, including Snoop Dogg, Jamie Foxx, Danny Glover, Shorty of the Da Lench Mob, Kam, WC (Westside Connection), Tank, The Booyaa Tribe, The Front Line, Kid Frost, RBX, JT The Bigga Figga, dead prez, San Quinn, The Soul Snatcherz and Planet Asia among others.
