Zitat:
The other reason I've been a little out of touch is because I'm making some NEW MUSIC. In August I was talking with one of my favorite producers and we decided to work on a full album together. The producer is none other then S1 (Symbolyc One) from Strange Fruit Project. The first song me and S1 did together was "Blessed Man" from my solo record "The IV Edition". This instantly became a fan favorite and people have always responded really positive towards that song. Our intention isn't to make an album full of similar sounding songs because you can't FORCE songs like that. So we approached this new record with a clean slate and just allowed the creativity and inspiration to flow. Right now we have about 6 tracks finished and we are hoping to have the whole record complete within the next 3 weeks. The official plans for the release aren't in concrete but we will be leaking the first song before the end of this month. It's a song called "Frankenstein" and we figured it was appropriate to leak it du
ring the Halloween season. The song isn't about Halloween or anything like that... .there is a full concept behind it but we will let everyone have their own take on the song once it's leaked.

There you have it - two big things going on in my life. Below is a list of up and coming concert dates. Also, SOJOURN has turned in all the sessions for his debut solo album titled "Sojournalism: The Summer Articles". Mixing starts this week and we should have an official release date posted within the next couple weeks.

Und das will schon was heißen... :D ;)

Zitat:
Last but not least!!! I only have two songs to finish and the "Cloud Nineteen" album will be completely finished. This is my collaborative record with S1 of Strange Fruit Project. We are planning for a March 3rd release date in 2009 and we have decided to drop this record on our own. At first, I was intimidated by this idea but then a fire started to grow in my heart. I've been thinking a lot about the younger generation. One of my frustrations sometimes is that I don't have the marketing budget behind my music to promote to the younger generation. It's hard to compete with McDonalds, G-Unit, X-Box and MTV. In the past I've had some opportunities to visit youth prisons, after school programs and boys homes. These experiences have always been meaningful to me but now I feel like it's time for me to specifically start focusing on the youth. Sometimes when I'm touring I only have 60 CDS on hand in my vehicle. Anyone who has ever been to one of my concerts knows that I always do my best to be gracious and give away my music to people who can't afford it. I remember times where kids would crowd around me wanting CDs - most of them legitimately didn't have ANY money. I was usually only able to give out 3 or 4 copies and I felt terrible. For an artist to visit these places where kids are, spend time with them and bring them a gift is a huge deal. In 2009 me and S1 are setting a goal to give away 30,000 copies of our new CD to teenagers in youth prisons, boys homes and after school programs. To the best of our ability, we plan on delivery these CDs to each facility in person. Our hope is to set up sessions with the kids, give them the free CDs, do a free performance and also do some music education. We are working on a partnership so that these 30,000 CDs will come with a BONUS DISK including free music software and tutorial videos teaching youth about music production and song writing. The project is much more in depth, but I just wanted to share the basic outline with everyone. In January we are going to be doing art auctions and fund raising to help cover the costs of manufacturing. If your interested in helping us with this in anyway then please just send me a message back. S1 and myself will start touring together Feb. 25th!!! We are setting up our schedule so that we can visit youth facilities during the day and then do all ages concerts during the evening.

One closing note. I know the economy has been rough this year. During Christmas we often feel pressure to buy the BIGGEST gifts we can in order to express our love to the people around us. If your struggling financially and not able to give as much as you would like to your friends and family, I want to encourage you with a thought. Think of creative ways to let the people around you know that you love them. Tell the ladies in your life that their beautiful. Pick them some flowers. Tell your friends that you love them and give them an encouraging word or compliment. When you can't buy gifts, you can always grab some paper and make a card. Write a poem or a letter for some people in your life. You will be surprised at how meaningful it will be to them. In my giving, I always look to God as my first example. God doesn't have a limited budget - he could offer me anything but he's shown me that the greatest gift you can give, is when you give of yourself. Many people complain because Christmas has become such a commercialized holiday. I even think the gas prices went lower recently so that we would all spend more money during the holidays, haha. I wouldn't be surprised if the prices start jumping back up in January. But none of that really matters to me. For some people the Christmas season symbolizes the birth of Jesus. I don't know what the exact day was, but this time of year is a great opportunity for us to reflect on who Jesus is!!! If anyone reading this has any questions about Jesus then feel free to hit me up. If you look at the life of Christ on earth, he was such a servant. I want to be more like him each day and truly learn how to serve my friends, family and community. Jesus is still alive today and I am not ashamed to call him my Lord, Savior and Friend.

ENJOY the free mix, free beats and so forth. I hope to see everyone in the NW at the concerts and if your interested in learning more about the "Cloud Nineteen" initiative to give away 30,000 CDs then please hit me up.

MUCH LOVE - Bryan "Braille" Winchester

Hey hey....

I'm so excited to type this up and share some good news with everyone. I am just going to do some ALPHABETIZED bullet points and then put the official "CloudNineteen" tracklist below.

A. My trip to Texas was amazing. Me and S1 created this whole album without even getting the chance to hang out in person. haha. To finally meet up, meet his family and see our chemistry in the lab was a blessing. Both of his sons are extremely talented. I whooped them at WII tennis but I hear Dee is a monster on the b-ball court and Vohn is CRAZY on the beats at 11 years old. His wife cooked some great meals and I knew making this record was the RIGHT thing to do. We spent 3 days working in the studio together and many of the songs came to LIFE during that time. New elements were added, the sequences were adjusted and there were many times where we both would get goosebumps listening back.

B. In my last Newsletter I shared details about my vision for this record. It was really hard for me to share the vision at first because I feared that people wouldn't understand. At this point I feel very comfortable with the vision and I am confident that this is what I'm supposed to do. Starting February 25th me and S1 will begin traveling around the U.S. with the intent of giving out as many CDs as we can press. My hope is to press 30,000 copies and in order to meet that goal I am accepting donations and financial contributions to help with the manufacturing cost. None of the donated money is going in my pockets, and with a total goal of raising $20,000 - every 70 cents we raise represents a CD being given away to someone. Rather then continuing to type out the vision, I filmed myself on DJ Idull's computer so that I could verbalize the vision in a video. You can view the video at -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGZxDWeSl3Y -

it's already received nearly 400 plays in less then 24 hours. If your interested in contributing to the cause then my paypal is braillehiphop@hotmail.com . If you'd rather send a check in the mail then just email me and I will hit you with my address.

C. I wanted to thank everyone who has contributed so far and helped spread the word. The fact that others believe in this vision is so COOL. Sorry to use such a cheap word but I can't really express how exciting this is. I know people have been anxious to hear what this record sounds like - there isn't really ONE song that represents the whole sound but we did decide to LEAK a second jam. It's called "Work That Way" and you can hear it at www.braillehiphop.com. You can also view the album cover at that same link. Spread the word if your digging it and feel free to post about it in your blogs.

D. I'm leaving to rock shows in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia this weekend. My wife is coming with me and we are taking one DAY OFF in New York. I guess you could call it a DATE day in the big apple. haha. I get back next Tuesday and then I will be taking the "CloudNineteen" album to PRINT. The retail version of the record will be available on-line by March 3rd at various online stores. This is a completely grass roots movement with no distribution but we will do our best to make it available to all the fans. And honestly, my heart with this record is that anyone who wants it will have a chance to get it.

As promised, below is the OFFICIAL tracklist. Check it out. Much love!!!! Also, if your interested - check out the DVD "Indescribable". This video really helped expand my mind and realize how big God is. It would be to long for me to fully explain but I highly recommend checking it out.
