KURUPT YOUNG GOTTI VIDEO INTERVIEW
What a crazy year it has been!! When we last caught up with the legendary West Coast Rhyme Master Kurupt a.k.a. Young Gotti earlier this year at the Death Row offices, who could have forsaw the many events that would eventually take place?
At the time of our last video interview, Kurupt was at war with longtime friends and collaborators Daz Dillinger & Big Snoop Dogg. Harsh words and disses were exchanged amongst them via songs and even on this very website a lot of that drama unfolded before many of your eyes. Anybody who watched our first video interview with Kurupt in the latter part of 2004 witnessed a "holy shit" moment or two as the battle lines were drawn with his former partners.
Then as we caught up with Gotti in the early part of 2005, I could see that change was in the air. No longer was he sprewing venom or taking shots at Daz & Snoop, but rather he was focusing on his upcoming release "Against The Grain" on Death Row/Koch. On a personal note, Kurupt had informed me that he was growing weary of this war with his homeboys and wasn’t going to focus on "disses" as he did for the past year or so.
A few months went by and little by little Daz, Kurupt, and Snoop starting showing signs here and there that they were willing to patch things up. Sure enough, in what was a "Twilight Zone" moment for myself, Kurupt confirmed thru our site that he missed his homeboys and was putting down his sword. Could it be true? Could one of the greatest rap duo’s of all time actually re-unite despite the extremely vicious exchanges?
You all know what happened next…unless you’ve been living under a rock. In amazing fashion, The almighty Dogg Pound re-unites and blazes the country with the "How The West Was Won" Tour with Compton Rap Super Star "The Game."
A lot of questions were raised though…. What about Kurupt’s position as Vice President of Death Row Records? What about his solo release "Against The Grain" which came out this summer? Was he still cool with Suge? What are the Dogg Pound planning to do now that they are back together? Who is Kurupt signed to? Lets answer some of those questions "officially"… Kurupt is no longer Vice President of Death Row Records. Click below to read the introduction, and
