Glasses Malone Adresses The State Of Rap In Statement

One of the West's hottest up and coming artists Glasses Malone, who's been known to tell the truth, nothing but the truth, no matter how hard to take that truth is, released a public service announcement over the internet last night, called "Kingdome Come", where he adresses the negative comments about Jay-Z's latest album "Kingdome Come", as well as the West Coast artists/fans in general.

"Why cant hip hop artist grow up? This Jay Z album should help alot of us with our transition into being older, wiser, and responsible adults. The Hip Hop critics have try to crucify this cd. Whats wrong with a 37 year old man to show growth. That nigga is ole enuff to be someone's grandfather for christ sake. It would've been a crime for that man to rap about slangin rocks, or gunnin people down. Its a shame to see rappers his age rap about juvenile shit such as gang bangin, slangin, and other ignorant things.

Not to mention these artist who have been successful don't even understand whats really going on in the hood. Thats why we constantly see these lowriders, khakis, and all type of other shit in these videos. Niggaz aint wearing that in the hood. Its just a foul misrepresentation. When was the last time they been to South Central, Inglewood, Watts, Compton, Long Beach? We look so old to the rest of the world. Where are the Dodge Chargers? where are the Harleys? If you been to L.A. lately, muthafuccas are wearing $500 jeans. Niggaz rarely even go to Crenshaw. The New Crenshaw is Broadway. Have you been there?

Rocks aint poppin in L.A. anymore. Pills are the new crack rock, Cush is the new crack rock. Open your eyes L.A.! Fuck that open your eyes whole world. Jay Z has commited the worse sin in hip hop. Being SUCCESSFUL! But is it really that horrible? Is it wrong to tell the youth what type of things lie ahead if you handle ya finances correctly? Is it wrong to convince the youth to stop putting worthless rims on a car? Is it wrong for a man to say don't waste your money on jewelry? Sounds like something my father would say. Guess what, Dude and my pops aint that far apart. So why not give worthwile advice like getting your credit together. Buyin property(nightclubs). These are the dreams people should aspire to achieve. Not a Phantom. Embrace the cutural growth.

I wish West Coast artist close to this man's age would make music that actually played a role in our street culture. It probably could help alot of these street issues. Why did I have to be the first one to make a song uniting crips and bloods? I'm glad to hear the records that have been inspired from my music. *Enters "Tha Sermon"* Once I'm done with you muthafuccas(fans and rappers alike) You gone look in the mirror at your self different. You gon have to ask yourself, Why can't I keep it this real? Pooh said "Tha Sermon" is too advance for the hood. We will see.

So I end this with embrace albums that show growth. We all gotta grow up. Why not learn from someone who has been thru our same path? Oh, and I wanna give a shout out to my boy Mykestro "The best rap Nigga eva", Bad Lucc " I been listenin to yo shit today nigga", Problem "Thats why yo deal gon be for $800 dollars, lol" , Bishop Lamont "Mr I-Sneak-on-WestCoastrydaz", and Pooh "Gettin 20% of all my muthafuccin money" and every New West emcee........Not to mention my squad "Blu Division/Firin Squad" our time is now Niggaz!"

The video gamers amongst you will have heard this song a few months ago already, as it appeared on the ever exclusive soundtrack to "Madden '07". However, I know a lot of people didn't get a chance to hear the song, which is a damn shame cause it's a banger! I decided to throw it back up on the site for everybody to listen to, so incase you haven't heard it before, make sure not to sleep on it again!

The track is called "Right Now" , get it below:

The news has been buzzing for weeks, but today we can officially confirm that Glasses Malone has inked a deal with Mack 10's Hoobangin' label through Cash Money Records! Glasses was originally signed to Sony's urban department, but it has since dismantled, allowing him to explore other options.

If you haven't heard it yet, check out Glasses's first single below, which we originally premiered back in March. The track is called "Malone" and is produced by Goldeneye. Play it as much as you can, and spread the word around!

Glasses Malone Prepares to Release Upcoming Debut

Watt's native, Glasses Malone, made headlines with his exceptional 1.7 million dollar deal with Sony records last year. However, changes with the label left the "hometown hero" looking for another home, temporarily. One week later he and his Blu Division imprint found its new home with Hoo Bangin/Cash Money/ Universal Records, where he is preparing to release his highly anticipated debut album " Beach Cruiser." With his current single "Certified" featuring Akon, heating up the airwaves, G. Malone plans to create a new legacy in west coast music...

The world first caught a taste of Glasses Malone's gritty flow with 2003's "The Crack Mixtape", but 2005's underground classic "White Lightning" really made the streets take notice of his lyrical fervor. Fueled by the single " 200", "White Lightning", went on to sell over 30,000 copies, and caught the attention of The Game, Dr. Dre, and Jay-Z. The hood was hooked and his notable appearances on The Game's "Devil's Advocate" , DJ Warrior / DJ Strong's "West Coast Mix Tape Kings Vol. 1" and Clinton Sparks' "Coast Control Vol. 1" caused his buzz to spread like an epidemic from coast to coast. MTV's first look segment back in August 06, gave an inside look at how, and why the former street hustler is so respected in the streets and on the mic.

"It was always about being the man where I was at," explains Glasses, "I grew up in Compton and Watts. My mom lived in Compton and my dad lived in Watts, so I just started grinding Compton and Watts with my CDs hard and it's paid off." With the support of his neighborhood, Glasses plans on keeping the West on top, and he won't stop repping for the streets he loves. Glasses plans on supporting his debut release by supporting the people who put him in this position, his fans. The die hard west coast representative will host a celebrity cook-out to treat the fans to a day of food and fun, as well as his signature "Buy the Bar Tour" where he will travel to approximately 30 cities up and down the coast to toast up close and personal with his public.

Malone isn't putting all his eggs in one basket, he plans to keep the streets saturated with upcoming projects including the upcoming Sermon EP, a horror movie CD/DVD release entitled "Monsters Inc." due out in October, several mixtapes including " Electric Chair" and "The Sideshow" with Mistah FAB, all in preparation for his upcoming release " Beach Cruiser". With production from the likes of DJ Toomp, Mannie Fresh, and Warren Campbell as well as appearances by Akon, Lil Wayne, Mack 10, Wyclef, Lupe Fiasco, Tyrese, Kam, Mistah FAB, Bohagan, and La Toiya Williams, "Beach Cruiser" promises to deliver the classic sound of why people love west coast living.

"It represents -- classic-ness, years and years, decades and decades of being a classic" says Glasses, "Folks have always ridden beach cruisers, no matter how many GT's and Dyno's come out. That's how I want my music to be -- timeless in that same sense, where people will ride to it forever."

And here it finally is! The man of the hour (or should I say year?) is getting closer and closer to the position where he needs to be – on top of the game! As we previously reported, Glasses Malone shot a video for his hit single "Certified" featuring Akon last month, and this video will hopefully help him get to that next level!

His first single with Akon, "Certified", established his name in the industry, and his latest joint, "Haters", with Lil Wayne and Birdman, is set to take him to the next level. The man I'm talking about is Watts rapper Glasses Malone, who has been one of the most featured artists on dubcnn throughout the last years.

We've received word that before dropping his Hoo Bangin/Cash Money solo album "Beach Cruiser", he has decided to put out a digital album in October for the fans.

The album is titled "Monster's InK" and will be available on iTunes and all digital outlets on October 7th 2008. Features on the album include G. Malone's Blu Division family Quiz, Conflict, Bloc Boyz, Roc Slanga and Lude, along with Yung Bruh, Bigg Steele, Butch Cassidy, Kokane and more.
