so ich eröffne jetz mal ein Thema für die 2 Jungs aus Long Island...

Hus Kingpin und Smoovth sind derzeit bei Domination Recordings und dort auch erst seit relativ kurzer Zeit aktiv, dafür aber umso emsiger. Vom Rap-Stil haben sie mich anfangs an Roc Marciano erinnert, sind aber etwas smoother.

Kennengelernt hab ich sie mit "Love Royale" vom letzten Jahr:

Domination Recordings then released, SmooVth 2nd solo album entitled "SmooVth - Checkmate", currently available online at all digital stores and the CD version at UGHH.com, Accesshiphop.com etc. Then on May 26th, 2010, Hus released his Japan only CD version via Tokyo label Libyus Music, entitled "Hus + Libyus Creators - The Love Movement".

Ich nehm mal an einigen wird das auf Albumlänge vllt etwas zu unspektakulär, aber ebenso nehm ich an, dass jeder pro Album einige Tracks finden könnte die ihm gefallen...

Hab gestern von dem Strangerz Album Makin Moves gehört, find den Track überragend. Hast du die Alben alle gehört? Gibts n Release den du mir besonders empfehlen kannst? Das Strangerz Album wird so oder so geordert! Kannte die Jungs vorher gar net ;)

hab nicht alle gehört.

Strangerz bestehen ja aus Hus und SmooVth (zusammen Tha Connection) und Marvelous Mag. Vom Letzterem hab ich an Soloplatten (der hat ja auch einige) gar nichts gehört, von Tha Connection dagegen schon. Da ist kein einziges Album so vollkommen überragend aber alle recht gut, am besten würde ich "Love Royale" einschätzen, dann die SmooVth-Solos... das neue Solo von Hus, "Cognac Fruit", das dieser Tage erschienen ist, ist nicht ganz so gut, "Trapeze" von Tha Connection kann man sich aber auch wieder sehr gut antun und "Connect 101" ist trotz einiger Remixe auch nicht ganz verkehrt (man höre nur den Track heir: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbtPJyAo0lc )

Ich steh halt übertrieben auf diese jazzigen beats mit Piano, Saxophon usw... Hab mir eben schon ma die Moon Water bestellt, auch wenn etwas teuer. Und Marvellous Mag find ich eigentlich auch ganz fett. Hab in das Soul city Album ma reingehört; sind einige brauchbare Tracks drauf. Sehr gediegene & gechillte musik, mir gefällts. :thumbs:
Love Royale wird als nächstes geordert, danke snoop!

The New York rap scene has made somewhat of a resurgence the last few years, spearheaded by the likes of Roc Marciano, Ka, Ratking, French Montana, ASAP Mob, Bodega Bamz, and Action Bronson, to name a few. Now with Uptown's Dave East, A Boogie, and Young M.A. making some noise in terms of some mainstream success, let us not forget NYC's underground.

Buffalo's Westside Gunn and Conway are hitting us with the fly, bully raps while Hempstead, Long Island's Hus Kingpin & Smoovth are more subtle with their approach and just as much chemistry. The duo hailing from L.I. pay homage to Prodigy's classic solo debut H.N.I.C., released in 2000, with a 12-track LP of their own.
