Jedi Mind Tricks haben nun auch Stellung zu dem Vorfall in München genommen. Achtet auf's Fettgedruckte
Peace ya’ll.
We made it back to the States in one piece, but not without incident. All was going well with the tour until we arrived for our first ever show with our New York brethren, Non-Phixion, in Munich, Germany. Long story short: The promoter of the show bounced from the club without paying Non-Phixion. The crowd grew restless as Non-Phixion waited anxiously backstage for the promoter’s return to the club with their money. After an hour or two of waiting, the crowd started launching empty beer bottles at the stage. Fans began filing through the club, including the unsecured backstage areas that are supposedly private to artists. Eventually, the Munich police force showed up by the hundreds with plenty of paddy wagons and protective riot gear. It was surreal.
At one point a riot dog bit a fan and the fans retailated by kicking the dog. After unsuccessfully waiting for hours backstage for the promoter’s return, we decided to take the entire JMT/Non-Phixion crew out the back of the venue in our rental van to the hotel. Unfortunately, the van wasn’t big enough to fit everyone in one trip. By the time we got back to the venue for the second pickup, we found out that Goretex and DJ Eclipse were in police custody and charged with “inciting a riot” – a ridiculous charge considering the promoter, Andreas Kalhofer, was responsible for “inciting a riot” by leaving the club without paying Non-Phixion.
Goretex and DJ Eclipse were eventually released after the Non-Phixion crew forked over4,000 euro in bail money to the German authorities. Two days later, we rocked Amsterdam with Non-Phixion and Outerspace in what was probably the best show of our brief European touring history. Munich would’ve been more of the same had Andreas handled his business properly.
Thanks to all the fans in Munich who rocked with JMT and Outerspace before the incident. The night was definitely shaping up to be another highlight of the tour before Andreas left with the loot.
