Below is our bio:
The crew that can rock a party from night to sunrise. The versatile Philly trio known as Sesion 31 (aka The Science Patrol) use their talents as producers, deejays and emcee's to energize even the toughest of crowds. They have been known perform both as emcees and DJ's within the same night, allowing them to take control of an entire show by themselves. Labeled by the Philadelphia Daily News as the "protectors" of hip hop, Sesion 31 employs their 20 years of hip hop experience to bring quality music to the masses through multiple outlets.
Sesion 31 consists of the three members: DJ Primetime, Fredy Blast and Skeme Richards. They are a self-contained entity which handles everything from production and recording, to having a full staff for doing photography, graphic designs and videos. They are producing new material for Bahamadia, El Da Sensei, Viktor Vaughn (MF Doom) as well as collaborating with the legendary DJ Cash Money.
Most recently, they have completed their self produced EP "Live Vs Art", which consists of six tracks that reflect their refined hip hop sound. Former Philadelphia radio personality and Phillyhiphop.com CEO Funk Wizard Snow emphatically states the following about Sesion31's EP: "Right now they may be the best group in the region that you've never heard of. That's all about to change. I stake my reputation on it."
In October 2003 the team launched their radio show entitled: THE FORMULA. It streams live every Sunday from 1-3PM EST at RADIOVOLTA.ORG. This show has quickly gained the reputation as one of the premier online hip-hop radio shows with their blend of precise mixing, exclusive tracks, frequent artists appearances and interesting commentary.
In addition to their online show, they have been busy rocking radio stations across the east coast. Fredy Blast, a pioneering DJ who competed in the New Music Seminar with DJ Cash Money, gained national recognition as the DJ for Bahamadia's B-Sides radio show on 103.9 FM in Philly. The show was responsible for breaking many independent artists on their way to prominence. DJ Primetime has been one of the top college radio DJ's since his 1998 debut at WSCB in Springfield, MA. His reputation for debuting top notch hip hop headnodders quickly earned his show on WRFT the Phillyhiphop.com College Radio Show of the Year for 2002.
Sesion 31 has been very active on the local hip hop scene showcasing their DJ skills at club events under the name of The Science Patrol DJ Squad. As DJ's they have graced stages by blessing the audience with their ill performances and incredible selections. Skeme Richards has quickly gained a following as the premier b-boy event DJ in Philadelphia, displaying an extensive breaks and rare funk collection that rivals that of Biz Markie.
They hold residencies that range over a variety of music genres: hip-hop, r&b, funk and breaks. They are popular house DJ's for many large hip hop shows in Philadelphia, sharing the stage with the likes of: GZA, M.O.P., Jedi Mind Tricks, Brand Nubian, Masta Ace, Royce Da 5'9" and J-Live.
