Raekwon Signs With EMI For 'Cuban Linx 2'

Raekwon has signed a distribution deal with EMI Label Services for his ICE H2O label. The Wu Tang Clan rapper will release his long-awaited "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2" album through the joint venture in the United States and Canada this summer.

"It's been a long time coming. The wait is finally over," Raekwon said in a statement. "I've put my blood, sweat and tears into making this classic album for my fans. Words cannot describe how extremely happy I am to work with EMI Music to put out my album..."


Promotional single, "The New Wu," features fellow Wu-Tang members Method Man and Ghostface Killah, both who also appear in the accompanying video. Also featured on the album are RZA, Dr. Dre, J Dilla, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, Bun B, The Game and the rest of Wu-Tang Clan, among others.

Raekwon's last album, 2003's "The Lex Diamond Story," sold 134,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

lol...seit wann will der Linx 2 schon releasen ? Das Ding sollte doch schon Anfang vorletzten Jahres kommen und dann kam ausser lauwarmer Luft und einem gähn-Track mit Busta Rhymes als ernüchternden "Vorgeschmack" nüscht. Aber ooch jarnüscht... Jetzt will ich auch nicht mehr. So ein Zirkus. Als wenn die welt nu' ausgerechnet auf Cuban Linx 2 warten würde... Macht lieber mal noch 'ne Best of Wu-Tang Part fuffzich. Hatten wir ja lange nicht...

Nee, den meinte ich nicht. Da kursierte im Netz mal ein Track mit Busta Rhymes, der laut Ankündigung auf Linx 2 landen sollte. Das ist ewig her. Ich versuch das mal rauszufinden...Aber das Teil war so abartig auf Mainstream getrimmt, dass ich fast das kotzen bekommen hätte.

Klingt alles recht solide und kaufempfehlend. We Will Rob You Ft Slick Rick Masta Killa GZA ist für mich aber das Brettchen auffem Album. Checkt ihr am besten gleich mal aus...
Irgendwie gibts aber laut amazon noch'ne 24 Trax starke Version des Albums. Keine Ahnung wie das zusammenhängt.
