Erotic D Sent To Prison

As many of you know, Erotic D has encountered an unfourtunate turn of events. Late last week, the producer, known for his work with Dr. Dre, D.O.C., MC Breed and Six2, was given an 18-year prison sentence for a probation violation charge.

As it presently stands, Erotic has to serve a quarter of that sentence (about 4-4½ years) to be eligible for parole. However, Erotic informed us today that they are appealing the decision and look forward to having the decision overturned.

Stay tuned to dubcnn for updates on Erotic D. If you would like to write to Erotic and show him your support you can do that by writing to:

Saigon's Back!

After being released from Atlantic Records resulting in the loss of his official first album, Brooklyn rapper Saigon announced today the development of his newly structured, long-awaited debut, Thank God.

Speaking with fans via his MySpace blog, Sai explained his absence from the hip-hop scene as of lately and why the upcoming album will really be his sophomore effort since The Greatest Story Never Told never hit stores.

“Whats up y’all…Its the Almighty Yardfather checking in…I’m sorry I haven’t been on the scene lately, I’m busy working on my second album titled ‘Thank God’ even though the first one has never come out. Hahahaha…,” he wrote. “Gotta stay working homie...”

Aside from constant label issues including his first album continually being delayed from its scheduled 2005 release date, Saigon was also involved in scuffles with Mobb Deep’s Prodigy and an online confrontation with Just Blaze throughout 2007. He has often kept fans in tune with his life through blogs, especially last year when he announced he was quitting hip-hop.

“F*ck this bum ass rap game anyway, its full of fake ass n*ggaz who pump poison to the kids, make a few dollars and act like they're larger then life when they know their music is detrimental to their fucking communities,” he wrote in November 2007. “If it ain't about sex, it's about drugs or violence, where are the songs about getting an education, or being responsible parents and sh*t, or stopping the gang violence...This sh*t is sickening...........SAIGON IS DEAD...Should I say I'll slap a rapper so they run and put it in all their news sections and gossip columns..Okay I'll slap the shit outta EVERY rapper how's that....I QUIT.”

One month later Sai blogged that he was returning to the rap game.

As of press time there is no word on the label or release date for Thank God.

Naughty By Nature Reunites For New Album

It's turning into a good year for Naughty By Nature. In addition to being one of the five honorees on VH1's recent "Hip-Hop Honors" special, the hip-hop trio has reunited to record a new album set for first quarter 2009. The group last performed together in 2006 for a one-night engagement at B.B. King's in New York.

"We've been talking about reuniting for about two years," group member Kier "DJ Kay Gee" Gist tells Billboard.com. "Then about three months ago, we decided to go ahead." Anthony "Treach" Criss and Vincent "Vinnie" Brown round out the trio.

The new album is tentatively titled "Anthem Inc." Plans are to release it independently, with the group currently shopping for distribution. A song the trio did in honor of its VH1 salute, "Hip-Hop Honors," is featured on the VH1 site...

As for what fans can expect musically, Kay Gee explains, "We're going to make universal party tracks with great hooks; street anthems, social and political anthems, anthems for the ladies. Nothing has changed from that standpoint. But we're not 19-20 anymore, so things will be a little different lyrically. We don't want to make a record that sounds like we're just trying to chase 15-year-olds. We do want to appeal to them but at the same time, we want the music to be natural and comfortable for us."

Despite the hiatus, Treach says the chemistry is still there. "It's like getting into a time machine going from the past to the future," he adds. "Vinnie and I have been touring. And both Kay Gee and I have been working on outside projects. So we didn't miss a beat when all three of us got back in the studio."
Hailing from East Orange, N.J., Naughty By Nature charted its first crossover hit in 1991 with "O.P.P." The track, which sampled the Jackson 5's "ABC," climbed to No. 5 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and No 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. Two years later, Naughty By Nature copped a No. 1 R&B hit with "Hip-Hop Hooray." The group's last major hit together was 1999's "Jamboree" featuring Zhane.

Kay Gee subsequently left the group in late 2000 to concentrate on his production company, Divine Mill. His credits include Zhane, Next and Jaheim. The last album Brown and Criss last recorded together was 2002's "IIcons."

Original No Limit Lineup Launches Reunion Tour

Reunited for the first time since the late 90’s, original No Limit recording artists Mia X, Mr. Serv-On, Mo B Dick, KLC and Fiend have confirmed a multi-city reunion tour for the winter 2008 season.

Christened the War Games tour, the selected concert dates will give long time fans their first opportunity in years to reconnect with key members from one of southern Hip-Hop’s pivotal movements.

In addition, the artists are anticipating using the tour as a springboard to reestablish No Limit as a viable brand in 2008’s Hip-Hop market.

“This tour is long overdue,” remarked Mr. Serv-On to AllHipHop.com. “We owe this tour to our fans.”

Founded by then known Percy “Master P” Miller in 1991, No Limit Records to date has sold more than 75 million records worldwide.

Utilizing production from Beats By the Pound and a business model that emphasized pushing new albums nearly every month, No Limit was instrumental in providing a blueprint for labels such as Cash Money, and illuminating major label attention on southern rappers as potential national stars.

While dates have not been finalized, cities verified for the tour include Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Jackson (Mississippi).

Ach du scheiße:

Zitat:
Fat Boys Are Back!!

Anyone who was into 80's Hip-Hop or was around that time should know about the Fat Boys. Originally from Brooklyn, the Fat Boys consisted of Prince Markie Dee, Kool Rock-Ski, and Buff Love a.k.a. "The Human Beatbox". With 8 albums and 3 movie appearances on their belt, they were one of the many important Hip-Hop groups of the 80's. For anyone who's big into samples as much as I am, knows that their first LP Fat Boys was heavily sampled (I'd start with "Stick ‘Em"). Unfortunatly while thinking of making a comeback, on December 10th 1995, Darren "Buff Love" Robinson died of a heart attack at 28. Now years later Markie Dee and Rock-Ski are planning to reunite for a new album, reunion tour and a reality TV show. For more information check out their new website OriginalFatBoys.com.

Bild

Ob das jetzt stimmt oder nciht is mir eigentlich egal.Mich interessiert nur WER ZUM TEUFEL IST INFARED???????

John Forte kann Weihnachten zu hause verbringen:

Zitat:
John Forte To Recieve Pardon From President Bush
In 2000 former Refugee Camp member and solo hip-hop artist John Forte was arrested at Newark International Airport for charges on possession and conspiracy to distribute cocaine. At the time Forte was arrested two women handed him a suitcase filled with $1.4 million worth of liquid cocaine. He claimed that he thought the suitcase contained money and he was doing a favor for a friend. After being bailed out by family friend Carly Simon Forte spent a small amount of time free on bond. In August 2001 however, after being found guilty in trial, he was sentenced to serve 14 years at FCI Loretto; a low-security federal prison in central Pennsylvania.

Yesterday, Forte was one of 16 people to recieve an official pardon for his sentence from president George W. Bush. Due to the commutation, Forte will be released on Dec. 22, after serving just over seven years. Among the people railing for his release these past several years has been Carly Simon, her son James Taylor and Senator Orrin G. Hatch (R-Utah).

RZA Present "Afro Samurai: The Resurrection"

Wu Music Group, the new label ran by the administrative mind of Mitchell "Divine" Diggs and the creative force of Wu-Tang Clan's chief architect, "The RZA", will release their second album, Afro Samurai: The Resurrection, on January 27th, 2009. The album is the soundtrack to season two of Spike TV's critically lauded animated television show and DVD featuring the voice of Samuel L Jackson and is musically produced entirely by Wu Tang Clan's The RZA. The soundtrack features unlikely collaborations and guest spots from legendary recording artists such as Sly Stone, members of the Wu-Tang Clan, Kool G Rap, Rah Digga, and a whole cast of RZA's protégé's, including the late Ol' Dirty Bastard's son – Boy Jones. This highly anticipated release demonstrates RZA's incredible genius and ability to unite some of the finest voices in hip-hop together in one place. The multi-talented producer/actor will also hit the big screen again later in the year as he co-stars in the upcoming comedy from writer/director Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up) out summer 2009. He will be seen alongside Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann in Funny People, the story of a famous comedian who has a near-death experience...

The Afro Samurai animated series debuted on Spike TV in 2006 and was the best-selling anime DVD release of 2007. In Afro Samurai: Resurrection, Academy Award® -nominated actor Samuel L. Jackson returns as the voice of the solitary warrior Afro Samurai and his sidekick Ninja Ninja as well as executive-producer of the this stylish series. Joining the cast this season is Lucy Liu (Dirty Sexy Money, Charlie's Angels, Kill Bill) as Sio, the seductive and sadistic mastermind plotting to destroy Afro. Also newly cast is Mark Hamill (Star Wars) as Bin, Sio's servant and protector.

RZA's 2007 soundtrack to season one of the Afro Samurai series introduced the world to a new team/swarm of the Wu disciples and included legendary collaborations with Big Daddy Kane, Q-Tip, Talib Kweli, and more never thought to be captured on tape. The exceptional follow up comes with deluxe packaging and O-Card and features the Wu-Tang mastermind at his architect best, drawing up the blueprint for a new dimension of sound and collaborations with friends old and new.

Afro Samurai: Resurrection marks another milestone for Wu Music Group, which recently announced a comprehensive partnership with The Orchard, to distribute and market the label's popular catalogue worldwide. The Orchard and Wu Music have digitally released the label's entire catalogue of unreleased material, including important recordings from RZA and other Wu-Tang Clan members, and will be marketing and distributing future physical and digital releases, beginning with Afro Samurai: Resurrection, from current label acts and new signings. The saga will continue, as the Diggs brothers breathe new life into the legacy of the Wu-Tang Clan. The RZA is also currently on tour with the Wu-Tang Clan - dates below!
