Zitat: LOUD RECORDS IS OFFICIALLY BACK!!!
Steve Rifkind, founder of SRC Records, has officially secured the Loud name for a second time, 15 years after the label was originally launched. Although it’s not news that Rifkind planned to resurrect the label that was shut down in 2002 and then went on to become a part of Sony BMG, it was only recently that he actually secured the name once again. In an exclusive statement given to BallerStatus.com, the music executive expressed his excitement saying he was “extremely happy” that Loud Records is back. Just how Loud entered the game in 1993 with the Wu-Tang Clan, they plan on repeating history once again. “It’s full circle for all of us,” Rifkind told BallerStatus.com. “We came in together and now we are going to do it for a second time. 36 Chambers came out in ‘93, [this time], they’re going to get a whole new audience.” The Wu-Tang Clan’s debut album, Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), was Loud Records first release. But, the label went on to release successful albums from Big Pun, Mobb Deep, Tha Alkaholiks, Lil Flip and Xzibit before closing its doors in 2002. Marking its return will be the Wu, with a new album in the works titled 8 Diagrams, their first album as a group since 2001’s Iron Flag. Loud has pushed back the album’s release from November 13 to December 4. Quelle: www.chambermusik.com |

MC Hammer: Not Dead MC Hammer is not dead, his representatives have insisted, after reports of the star's untimely demise swept the media. The well-being of the infamous rapper-turned-preacher has been the subject of some speculation in recent days... However, it has now been confirmed that the recent death of a man with the same name--Stanley Burrell--has prompted the uncertainty. A spokesperson for Hammer, who enjoyed little chart success after his breakthrough single "U Can't Touch This," has insisted he is very much alive and well. He is apparently set to make a new stab at fame with an Internet project called DanceJam, which will see him judging videos of people dancing. |

Pitbull's Back With A New Album Originally expected this fall, Latin rapper Pitbull's new album, "Boatlift," is now on target for a Nov. 27 release via TVT. First single "Secret Admirer" features R&B up-and-comer Lloyd, while Trina guests on "Go Girl" and Jim Jones appears on "Sticky Icky." Pitbull (real name Armando Christian Perez) is a Cuban American (born in the United States to Cuban parents), bilingual and vested in his roots. He raps mostly in English, albeit with healthy doses of Spanish. His fair skin and light green eyes defy the stereotype of what a rapper should look like, but his sound and persona appeal to lovers of urban music, whether they be African American, white or Latin... "It can be challenging in that at radio you have to work many different formats to connect with the consumers," TVT executive VP Paul Burgess says. "His pan-appeal across the board is really the great strength of Pitbull as an artist and as a brand. And I don't think we've capitalized on that to its full extent." "Boatlift" is the follow-up to last year's "El Mariel," which has sold 214,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. "When you've got Beyonce doing a Spanish record, that shows you the power of our community," Pitbull told Billboard this summer. "So, being bilingual and doing the music I do will make all the sense in the world three years from now." |
