Production duo the TrakStarz, who gained national attention after writing and producing Chingy's multi-platinum Capitol debut, "Jackpot," have formed a joint venture with Blackground Records, whose roster includes JoJo, Toni Braxton, Tank and the late Aaliyah.

Under the terms of the three-year deal, St. Louis-based Alonzo "Zo" Lee, 26, and Shamar "Sham" Daugherty, 29, will sign and develop talent through their TrakStarz Records label, as well as release their own album. Aside from the Blackground association, the TrakStarz will maintain existing song deals with Interscope and Capitol Records.

"Jackpot" has sold more than 2.8 million units in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. In addition to "Jackpot" -- paced by the crossover hit "Right Thurr" -- the TrakStarz collaborated with Chingy on his recent sophomore set, "Powerballin'."

The TrakStarz, says Lee, aim to "bridge the gap between St. Louis and the industry." The Missouri city is also home to another multi-platinum rap artist, Nelly, and the St. Lunatics.

Among the St. Louis talent on the TrakStarz Productions roster are teen rapper Louis V, female R&B group STL, rap duo 2 Deep, male R&B singer JuJu and male rapper Starr 47.

"People are ready for something different, and St. Louis is delivering what people want to listen to," Daugherty says. "That's why we want to stay close to this source and create a pipeline. We want to be able to do what Dr. Dre has done: help artists realize their full potential."

The TrakStarz own and operate the St. Louis studio TrakMeet. They are currently recording their own project, with a second-quarter release date in mind. According to Lee, the set will feature dancehall and South African rhythms as well as R&B and hip-hop. It will also showcase acts from the TrakStarz roster alongside Lee and Daugherty, who will be the main artists. Among the names being mentioned as potential guests are David Banner, Twista, Juvenile and Jon B.

Beyond Chingy, the TrakStarz have worked with a diverse list of artists, including Houston ("I Like That"), Ludacris ("Splash Waterfalls" remix, "Gold Digger" from the "Shark Tale" soundtrack) and Britney Spears ("Me Against the Music" remix).

"Outside of our DJ and strong musician backgrounds, what distinguishes the TrakStarz sound are powerful, edgy beats that appeal to the street and cross over at the same time," Lee says. "We play on our versatile backgrounds."

Late last year, Cam’ron announced through the radio that he was leaving Def Jam after the presidential appointment of Jay-Z and the sale of Roc-A-Fella Recordings. But, now sources inside the label have revealed that the Diplomat chief is still with the label.

While details are scare, Cam was still contractually bound to the label despite an alleged release from Island Def Jam chairman L.A. Reid.

While his album Purple Haze is cooling off on the charts, he's moving into other ventures.

As an entrepreneur, the Harlem native has persistently made forays into liquor, investments, stores, side label deals and he intends to drop a new straight-to-video movie.

“I am shooting a movie called ‘What’s Really Good,’ Cam told AllHipHop.com. "It’s similar to the [Jay-Z movie] ‘Streets Is Watching,’ but it’s more updated and it’s coming to pay-per-view along with [a] show that I did recently.”

Cam’ron has promptly dismissed the rumors circulating that his real movies would be into the world of porn production and related videos.

Cam added, “I am not that kind of person man, I got kids."

Besides music and movies, Cam is known as a huge fashion buff. The purple man revealed where he purchases his gear and what his typical wardrobe entails.

Cam named Apollo Signature on 125th street near the historic Apollo Theater as his regular stop-shop. "They’re the flyest elegant store in Harlem. You can’t even get some of the things no where else, like my jeans which [are] from "Rich Kid."

Cam also rocks 69 shirts, which he said are similar to Coogi sweaters that run between $600 and $700 normally.

"I got some dunks [Nike Sneakers] from Japan that I ordered over the Internet that I flew in to match my outfit," Cam continued. The Harlem native is also as big on jewels as he is on the latest trends in the fashion world.

"I got this watch from the Damon Dash line Tiret,” Cam boasted. “Lemon heads [earrings] in my ears, $60 [thousand] on my neck its nothing.”

The homie 40 Glocc is on his way to New York to record some tracks with The Alchemist and Havoc for his upcoming release Retreat From Running. DJ Babu is also going to put some beats down meaning that this album is going to have a wide sound appeal. But hard-core West fans shouldn't worry because 40 always holds it down for the Coast.

The album is going to include The Zoo Babies and members from The Riflemen.

Very shortly, 40 is also going to let y'all have a listen to a new track by Jayo Felony and The Zoo Babies, so stay tuned for that

Das gesammte interview sollte bis ende der woche online sein, aber ich hab ein 4 minuten trailer zusammengestellt...

Hier is die Beschreibung:

"This is not your ordinary interview, folks! This is a real experience, an exclusive experience brought to you by your good friends here at Dubcnn.com. We hooked up with the Pimpin' Young & Ha Loco of the Pomona City Ridaz for a 35 minute video interview. But this is more than an interview.
To give you an idea of what you're about to see, we put together a trailer for the video interview. Witness Dubcnn riding with the Ridaz through L.A., see them rapping exclusive verses from their new album in the car, showing you around Los Angeles, getting the police called on us, smoking on some of that Kush, spitting some real game, and of course, all the news on their new music and upcoming album.

The stars from True Crime: Streets Of L.A. are back real viciously, giving you an exclusive look into a day as a Pomona City Rida. Ride with the Ridaz for half an hour and enjoy the show! The full interview should be up by the end of the week, for now check out the 4 minute trailer below, put together by the big homie Inspire:"

Nas & Kelis Married In Atlanta

It’s official. Hip-hop’s golden son Nas and his proclaimed “wifey” Kelis have gotten married after a two-year engagement. The crazy-in-love hip-hop pair hitched Saturday (Jan. 8) in Atlanta, according to sources with AllHipHop.com. The small ceremony consisted of only close friends and family, including Nas’ father Olu Dara, who appears on Nas’ latest song, “Bridging the Gap.” Nas' brother Jungle was the best man. The smitten rapper proposed to Kelis on Christmas Eve 2002 at her mother’s home.

The two met at P. Diddy’s after-party for the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards, which Nas said he didn’t want to attend initially. His longtime producer friend Steve Stoute convinced him to fly to New York for the show on August 29. Nas proclaimed that the encounter with Kelis was love at first sight. However contrary to the small gathering that took place, Nasir “Nas” Jones once professed that his wedding would be a grand ceremony in the song “Getting Married” off the Queensbridge rapper’s recently released Streets Disciple double LP.

“[We] spoke on eloping, but then I deaded the thought/’cause she deserves Cinderella's ball and the whole s**t,” Nas raps.

Before the wedding, a source reportedly revealed that a secret wedding would be surprising since Nas seemed to want a large, traditional service. But plans of a covert ceremony emerged when Kelis reportedly cancelled a London concert. A spokesperson for the London nightspot, Club Koko, where Kelis was supposed to perform, said the Harlem songstress called off the show due to last-minute plans. "She simply told us she couldn't honor the commitment,” the rep told a UK publication. “We didn't even know she was getting married this week."

Nas recently talked up his lady in an interview with AllHipHop.com last summer, describing Kelis as his perfect match. “Everything is just easy. Even when s**t is crazy with me and her, s**t is easy at the same time,” Nas said. “I’m an easygoing person and she’s that way too in a lot of ways. She’s a Leo so she’s fiery too but everything is just easy.”

Kelis, too, admitted that she and Nas have a laid-back relationship, telling Trace magazine recently that the duo often listen to jazz records together. She also said that unlike many other famous couples, their relationship is solid. Nas ends his song “Getting Married” with, “I'm stayin’/I'm sayin’ vows all true/Will you take music as your wedded wife? I Do/Sike, this ain't about music, y'all know who I'm talkin' to/I'm getting married.” The rest is kismet. Nas will return to music at the end of January to promote his latest double album, Streets Disciple.

Für alle 50 Cent Fans unter uns (die große Masse hier :blumen:  ) gibt es ein paar Neuigkeiten:

Zitat:
Before unveiling his new album St Valentine’s Day Massacre to the public, 50 Cent recently collaborated with DJ Whoo Kid to compose a brand new mixtape entitled “2050: Before The Massacre.”

The mixtape, which is scheduled to hit the circuit later this week will contain an exclusive collection of all new freestyles and will feature the album’s first official single, “Candy Shop” featuring Olivia.

“The freestyles are all new. Nothing old,” DJ Whoo kid confessed to MTV.com. “We [were] in the studio for two days straight, dirty as f**k. Nobody left, nobody took a shower, just straight freestyles.”

The highly controversial “Piggyback” song, which reportedly disses Fat Joe and Jadakiss among others failed to make the mixtape but Whoo Kid did note that 50 will still have a lot to say. “He's addressing people like crazy on the new [mixtape], but “Piggyback” we're gonna save for the next one.”

50 Cent’s St Valentine’s Day Massacre is scheduled to arrive on shelves March 8 and the accompanying video for “Candy Shop” will hit television within weeks.

The Tracklisting for 2050: Before The Massacre is as follows:

“Valentine's Day Massacre” Intro
“Candy Shop” feat. Olivia
“I'm An Animal”
Interlude
“Gotta Get Mine”
Interlude feat. Tony Yayo
“Put A Hole In Yo Back”
“My Downfall”
“Take Ya Back”
“Bitch What U Know About” feat. Young Buck & Spider Loc
“It Is What It Is”
“Get Ya Boy”
“London B***h”
“Queens PIMP”
”Sandbox Interlude”
”We Gonna Hit Yo Ass Up” feat. Lloyd Banks & Tony Yayo
Tony Yayo “I'm Runnin'”
”When You Hear That” feat. Tony Yayo
