(Raleigh, NC, February 8, 2005) --- Just months after releasing Definition. The Hip-Hop Compilation, Neblina prepares to drop Fear & Loathing: Riding with DJ Resident, a fresh mixtape adapting its name from the late 1990’s movie.

“The idea was simple,” says DJ Resident. “I wanted something fresh for the true hip-hop fans. The mixtape scene is flooded with the same material, same sound, same concept all just packaged up differently. No wonder they say the competition is crazy, everyone is selling the same product.”

“Watch for the mixtape to include exclusive contributions from K-Hill, Chapter 13, and Manov War” says Hiphopsite.com. Collaborating with some of the best talent on the hip-hop scene for a well-rounded collection of exclusives, Resident has been building with Supastition, Splash, Mercury Waters, WhyOS, the Artkitects and more. With Resident’s meticulous production on several remixes and original songs, stylish blends and added narration, the F&L mixtape is a skillfully crafted work – expect to revisit what true hip-hop is about.

“The whole joint is crazy… it really feels like you are a part of the movie, and if you’ve ever seen the movie, you know it’s nuts. With soundbites everywhere & flashy details throughout,” interjects Leo Jeffers, Neblina’s business planner, “this mixtape is the first of a new breed. Neblina always pushes the envelope and this is no exception.”

“I set out in a different direction. Music is about feeling and relating to something as well as being entertained. But so many cats are on the same vibe, I know people want more than just that narrow spectrum of music. It’s not pretty out there, but selling the same scene isn’t stepping forward… I’m a musician; I want to hear it all,” reflects Resident, “and that’s what I’m giving you on this mixtape.”

DJ Resident is the producer behind underground gems such as Dreams by Medinah General and The Diesel Go-Off by K-Hill. He currently resides in Raleigh, NC working on completing a decade as a radio personality and mixer of one of the longest running underground hip-hop radio shows in North Carolina.

New Releases from Galapagos4... coming soon...

G40029 - Robust & Prolyphic "Stick Figures" 12" - mid-April 2005
G40030 - Qwel & Jackson Jones "Blood From The Stone" 7inch - early May 2005
G40031 - Maker "Shooting The Breeze" - CD/2xLP - late May 2005

G40029 - Robust & Prolyphic - "Stick Figures" 12"
Robust & Prolyphic team up for this double A-sided 12” as a preview to their upcoming full length LP as the group Stick Figures. Robust busted out in early 2004 with his debut LP “Potholes In Our Molecules” (Galapagos4), which had production and 1 guest verse from Prolyphic. This introduced the talented MC/producer Prolyphic to many fans, and he followed up with his own full length “An Alarm Clock Set for 9:01” (Duck Soup Records) in mid-2004. Both LPs were met with critical and popular acclaim. The long-time co-conspirators then decided to focus on the Stick Figures group, with both contributing beats and rhymes to the project. Look for the full length LP later in 2005 on Galapagos4.

G40030 - Qwel & Jackson Jones "Blood From The Stone" 7inch
Limited edition 7inch vinyl featuring 2 songs from Qwel's next upcoming full length LP, a collaboration with production team Jackson Jones entited "Dark Day" due out later in 2005 on Galapagos4.

G40031 - Maker "Shooting The Breeze" CD/2xLP
Known as one of the most talented and prolific producers to come out of the bubbling Chicago scene in the last few years, Maker has been given the chance to shine on his own with his first full length instrumental album "Shooting The Breeze" on Galapagos4. Fans and critics begged for instrumental versions of his collaborations with Qwel ("The Harvest") and Adeem & DQ as Glue ("Seconds Away". But instead of simply releasing an instrumental album of beats that were designed for MC's to rap over, Maker thought it was best to present himself as a solo artist and showcase his talents as an instrumentalist and song-creator. "Shooting The Breeze" is just that, a pure instrumental album of carefully crafted songs meant to stand out on their own.
